As far as I can see there's no thread for Sade's new album so here we have one.

As if the amazing artwork wasn't persuasive enough I urge everybody to listen to this album. It's brilliant for chilling you out and as somebody who's never encountered Sade or their music before I can say that 'Be That Easy' and 'Babyfather' are two of the best songs of the year.

I've been meaning to download this. The lead single was a slow grower, but it's rather immense. Like you say, her voice is rather soothing and nice on the ear.

I'm kinda the same with her ('their') music being something I've never really looked into before. I mean, I've been aware of her for a long time. Surely you must know of "Smooth Operator"? The chart run wasn't great, but I'd say it's a pretty well known track. It's the only other Sade track I have anyway.

I can't listen to that youtube video at the minute Aaron but I will tomorrow. I am aware of the name but I was 8 when they last released an album and at that age Sade wasn't exactly my bag. :P
"No Ordinary Love" is by far their best single, imo.

I think I might need to find myself their old singles. I only know "Smooth Operator" and I vaguely recognise "Your Love Is King", but that's about it. They're more of an album act it would seem.

You make out like I'm ancient! I was only 10 when the previous album came out and I've only 'got' her voice recently. Until this latest era, I've always shrugged her off as 'that one from the 80s that sings like a man', but "Soldier Of Love" won me over to her voice.

The video I posted is a song from 1984. That's six years before I was born, for the record.

Smooth Operator

Your Love Is King

Sweetest Taboo

No Ordinary Love

Cherish The Day

By Your Side

Jezebel

King Of Sorrow

these for me are Sade's best songs :)

"The Moon and the Sky" & "In Another Time" are my favourites. A really strong, mellow record, and it's made me want to seek their previous work.
