Mr Wedlock gained notoriety in 1981 with his single The Oldest Swinger in Town when it reached number six in the charts. The 67-year-old had been been suffering from pneumonia and a family spokesman said he died on Thursday following a heart attack. March 5, 201015 yr As I come from the West Country I know he is a bit of a legend in this region. In the early 1980s he hosted a local regional TV arts and culture show (I think on the BBC).
March 8, 201015 yr from my scant knowlege of him, it looks like he will be remembered for that awful novelty track when in fact he was a great folk singer, much respected and admired.
