Posted March 6, 201015 yr Well originally I was going to do a ''What single should they release next'' but I figure this would be better. I personally think a re-release is for the best. If they come back with a huge new track, and re-release the album it really could save it for them. Wordshaker is too brilliant of an album to just drop and it will really look like a bad patch for them if they continue for years to come. Releasing more singles wont do any good either, they might get the album up too 100k but will it really be enough? If a huge hit like Ego cant do it then I dont think Here Standing or anything else can do it either...
March 6, 201015 yr I think they really need to take their time with this. They need a break. 'Work' just left the top 100 when Forever Is Over was leaked everywhere. Absolutely no gap at all. When 'Ego' officially leaves the top 100 I think The Sats should take a break for 6 months or so, return in the autumn with a massive single and then release the album a week after. Lots of promotion will be needed before, during and after release week. The video should be costly and creative, possibly it could be a collaboration? A good couples of interviews promoting the "new album that's just out" won't hurt, plus CD signings and a good few extra tracks on the re-release. If, after all that, Wordshaker still flops then it's either the end of the era and the girls start work on an album (which ideally should be out at least 12 months minimum after their last single leaves the charts) or else the girls will get dropped.
March 7, 201015 yr Author Oh definatly, there should be a gap this time around between album #2 and album #3. The one between Work and Forever Is Over was way too short, I realize of course they needed to keep themselves relevant and known but 3 months was ridicolous.
March 7, 201015 yr Well clearly a break is needed and will do no harm. They are lucky Ego was a nice little hit for them and they can have a break on a high unlike say ending CL-era with their #22 smash. I'd go with a re-release. Few extra stand-out tracks and relaunch with the right lead single this time. The Saturdays have good profiles, from media interest in their private lives to their endorsement deals. There is so much potential here, I hate seeing it wasted!
March 7, 201015 yr Personally, i think if they wait till around about july and release a summer hit, (hopefully the one they have been working on with taio is summery) if so release that (: but i would say take a break, do the odd interview now and again make sure no one forgets them, then in july, BOOM its like they never went away (: then re release the album a week later (: but as it has been said, they will need to do lots and lots of promo to get number one aswell as it having to be a good single im thinking the usuals aswell as others - loose women - Gmtv - alan titchmarsh - alan carr - jonathan ross (hopefully) - this morning - blue peter (other kids tv) - Lots of tv adverts for the new single and album re release - radio interviews - magazine interviews The whole shaboudle! then hopefully they could get a number one and also, promo in ireland! im not from there but maybe they might get a top 5 hit (: Edited March 7, 201015 yr by MusicIsMyLife
March 7, 201015 yr Re Release wordshaker in deluxe form, ego showd there is still an appetite for the saturdays so they need to work on that more.
March 7, 201015 yr If they record new material they might aswell release album 3 insted of adding them to an album that hasn't done very well. I vote for move on to album 3.
March 10, 201015 yr theres no option for 'split up'...:P Bless the label didnt drop them so you have to want them to split :) Are they really that hard to avoid?
March 10, 201015 yr theres no option for 'split up'...:P Because there's no possibility of that happening, or there'll be a Take That-esque outcry, at the loss of the greatest girlband. :)
March 11, 201015 yr They have nothing to lose by trying another single (*cough* Here Standing), 'Ego' was a big hit so they'll still get all the relevant support they need for it. Re-releases are only for really successful albums usually.
March 12, 201015 yr Bless the label didnt drop them so you have to want them to split :) Are they really that hard to avoid? ....yet! :P Because there's no possibility of that happening, or there'll be a Take That-esque outcry, at the loss of the greatest girlband. :) i wouldnt be so sure..
