Nooooooooooooo I don't want them to go electro. They are too good for it. Electro has become so mainstream.

Evanescence's Amy Lee has reportedly confirmed that the band's new album has been delayed.

Earlier this year Lee said the fans could expect an electro-influenced LP and later commented that she was making "best album of her life".

According to Blabbermouth, Lee has now said: "We've taken some time out of the studio to get our heads into the right creative space, work on the songs and even write some more music.

"We'll be back in the studio recording the album soon enough. I think that it can only be stronger for this extra time we're putting into it."

The band began recording the unnamed album in February.

I loved both of their studio albums, so I'm looking forward to this. "Electro" scares me slightly, but I guess they know what they're doing... hopefully. :heehee:

Electro doesn't scare me.. Evanescence attempting "electro" as a means to revive flagging interest in the band does.....

Oh, that's what I meant. :heehee: I like some electro stuff, but this type of band trying it is what scares me. :(

electro??? oh geez

I'm not gonna say this sounds like utter $h!t till I've at least heard something from it as I love Amy Lee's voice so can hold onto some sort of hope :P

The Open Door was an excellent album, much better than their other material. Was a big fan, hope they (she, whatever), pulls themselves together and stop the constant changing of band members already

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Evanescence's Amy Lee has revealed that the band has begun recording an electro-influenced album.

The singer told Rolling Stone that the LP will be a mix of "sarcastic aggression" showing a new side to the band.

She cited Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Portishead, CSS, La Roux and MGMT as some of their influences.

"A lot of bands I've always been inspired by are just coming into play a little more," said Lee.

"There's a lot of stuff that doesn't sound like Evanescence, but the heart of the band of still there."

The band began recording the unnamed album - produced by industry veteran Steve Lillywhite - on February 22.

oh dear :(

Great influences I must add. At least they are inspired by some brilliant trip-hop and electropop acts.

Yeah, but since when has Evanescence ever been "influenced" by any of those...? I mean come on, the first album was basically Linkin Park with the lyrics of Trent Reznor or Kurt Cobain, the second was similarly angsty only with better music, basically, a 'Hard Rock' record in a lot of ways... I totally FAIL to hear where the Trip-Hop/Avant-Garde Electronica/Post-Rock/Lo-Fi element comes in........... If she wants to take a totally radically different musical direction, yes, by all means do so, but DONT try to market it as an "Evanescence" record, because it clearly isn't (in the same way that "Chinese Democracy" sure as hell wasn't a Guns N Roses album), it's clearly going to be too different... Do it as a Solo project, or under a different project name entirely....

Amy Lee is the only remaining original member of Evanescence left, just like Axl with Guns N' Roses. New albums delayed and said to offer a radical change in style. Both have been accused of being egomaniacs. Very popular once upon the time in mainstream music.

...surely I'm not the only one who thinks these two ought to collaborate and get married? :heehee:

I was under the impression Amy Lee was married already....

Fine looking woman like her, I'm sure she probably is

My girlfriend is obsessed with her, the image, the music, the voice, everything. I think she's talented, but I always found Evanescence a little bit of a...frustrating listen? Amy Lee's voice is mixed INCREDIBLY high, it sort of overpowers everything else.

Amy Lee has revealed that Evanescence's comeback album is going to be different to their previous music.

The 29-year-old band member explained that their new LP is not "angsty" or "ominous" or "heavy."

She told Spin: "The record is fun - and that's a totally new thing for us. When I listen to our old music I see that's where I was in my life at that time.

"This has been a long trip and parts have been hard. But it's about not taking everything so seriously this time."

Lee explained that the group worked together to get the best out of their songs.

She added: "We took the best songs we had, added more, and reworked them as a group. They're stronger than before… when it was more one-dimensional."

However despite the lighter approach to their songs, Lee insisted that she still wants the band to remain passionate.

She commented: "Life can be tough sometimes. But I think it just starts with admitting, 'OK, the world's not perfect, how do we live our lives within that and not be miserable?'

"There was some real struggle trying to figure out what I want this band to be. I want Evanescence to feel passionate. It's about looking for the answers and not always knowing them."

Evanescence definitely a rock band, but the twist is that the band's music is epic, dramatic and dark rock.
