another tweet from someone who met Darius, 'Darius did Opera :l'

Haha, has this person been living in a hole? D singing opera isnt much of a surprise after Popstar to Operastar...

Hi - just back from Covent Garden

Darius was just amazing

He looked very handsome in his suit. He sang five songs - colourblind, a song I hadn't heard before about buskers (missed the title) sung to a little girl from the audience, Nessum Dorma acapela, Non Piu Andrai, and the Impossible Dream. He was very funny in between the songs joking about the trick collapsing stool that he had been given to sit on. His voice sounded so strong and fine and he was very well received. He had plenty of time for everyone, lots of people getting their photos taken with him and kisses. His brother was there although I didn't see him. They were off to the airport after presumably to get back to mum for Mother's day.

Thanks feral cat, loved all the songs he did, just wish I could have seen them. Thank PIP for the picture.
I was just going to say isn't that Paul behind the camera? Lots of photos to look forward to then!! Thanks for the photo Pip and for your account Feralcat. So wish I could have been there. Sue
I missed Paul!! LOL couldnt see him behind that HUGE camera, some people certainly have big enough cameras in that picture

And Paul!! :cheer:

Wish you could have come down Madame C, it would have been lovely to see you again, maybe next time :)

Only been home 1/2 an hour but I've just uploaded the photo's and there isn't any outstanding pics, but that was due to the location and not really being able to move for people around us. I'm pretty sure Meg and Pam will have better shots than mine to show you, but I will edit a few of the best ones and post them here as soon as I can this evening.

Had a lovely time with Spam and Meg, it was a pleasure to see you both again :)

OK! Off to edit some pics.

I've had some computer problems last few weeks, and have lost my editing software. I have a very basic editing suite, but it's so annoying to use, and I'm knackered, so I'll just post these few pics tonight. They're not really the best, simply the first few I came to, but until I get my editing kit sorted they're all I can mangage.

Sorry they're not great, but hopefully I can manage better tomorrow(but no promises I am afraid :()

Darius was popular after he sang, and of course made time for everyone. I'll produce more of a report tomorrow, but he did sing well.

One thing I would say is that I still don't feel Nessun Dorma is right for him to sing. He gave a reasonable performance of it, but I didn't feel it was outstanding. I think it's one that should either be absolutely perfected, or binned and never sung by him again. Not meaning to be negative, just my opinion you understand :)

Right I'm off to bed so I'll see you guys tomorrow, gooodnight all :)

I love the baritone 'Nessun Dorma'. Non Piu Andrai, and the Impossible Dream were great. Dave went and saw our son of back to Edinburgh and then came to join us, which meant he was given my handbag camera to take pics with. These are ones he took - pretty much like Paul's but they were almost by each other. A lovely little gig. I saw 'Girls Can't Catch and Gabriella as well as D and they were very good. It's great to hear acts singing live.

This one was taken when he had to stand up after singing 'Colourblind' and sinking lower and lower on his collapsing stool
