I'm having pc problems as well - all those pics were saved at the same size.

It was a really fun gig. The previous two performers came with a guard on one side of the space - Darius came alone along the other - stopping to pick up the person dressed as a daffodil and swing him/her around. The collapsing stool was great. You coul;d see Darius getting closer and closer to the floor.

The important bit -0 he sounded really good, looked well, though a little tired. He'd just come from another gig and was flying off to somewhere else straight from this. He's a busy lad. He's looking forward to tell us what's happening when he can - we just have to wait. I'm still not good at that.

thanks, megham and Paul, If Darius sang ND as well - or better than he did on PSTOPS then I love it, I actually think the baritone makes the song stand out,

Darius looks wonderful, and glad ot hear he was a great as ever with everyone.

I wonder what gig he had come from..where he as going, and what he is doing..

He did sing it well, but not as well as on PSTOS IMO. I feel if he really worked on this song, it could be wonderful for him and his lovely rich voice, but he was a little up and down in his range during it, because he's not finalised the start and finishing notes.

Here's a few more pics. I've wound up my clockwork computer, which fortunately still has my photo editing suite on. It takes me three times as long but at least I can do a reasonable job on them.

I have a few more pics to edit and upload a bit later, but as with these, they're all pretty much the same, with no outstanding shots. I'll try and give a little report with next posting too :)

Hiya guys - such fantastic pics and it was really great to hear about his performance as well!

I'm compiling a massive (and I say massive because there are currently over 1000 images with many more to come!) Darius gallery over at http://www.dariuscampbell.org and I wandered if it would be okay with you marvellous photographers to use some of your photos in the gallery?

Thanks, Mel

Thanks, but I feel pics featured on fansites should come from members of the site or professionals(both with permission), so I'd be oblidged if you don't use any of mine, thanks!

Okay... well I was hoping that creating an archive of images would be a very good fan resource no mind where the images come form as credit would definitely be given...

Hmmn as a photographer myself I understand, I'd probably be a bit peeved if some of my stock images or even footage went around the internet B)

lovely pictures, Paul - D looks wonderful. what is he waving in the air??

a bit sad we could have gone as its only 45mins or so away by train but at that time lugging daughter in tow we would have had to have food, and come back in rush hour..OH keeps saying he told me we could have gone!! my fault, didnt want to push it what with the huge phone bill!!! plus I was thinking he would be only doing one or two songs at most

OMG soooo cant wait to see him in the flesh again even more now!! :yahoo:

Meg alluded to it earlier. When D was performing his first song, he was seated on a gas filled chair. Unfortunately, whilst playing Colourblind, the chair started to sink with him in it and he ended up sitting about 18 inches from the floor  Later, after he had sung the 2nd song to a young lady from the audience, he went to move the same chair and this time the back just lifted off in his hand  He made a joke that his brother had placed a trick chair there to wind him up, it was very funny :)

It's a shame you didn't attend PIP, but I'm sure we will have many more occasions to see D this year and hopefully beyond too :)

Just wish we knew what he was doing and when, as holidays/hotels and train tickets might need to be booked.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences and lovely photos and for the links. Loved Nessum Dorma, and what a talent to be able to just stand there and sing it 'off the cuff' like that. So glad you all enjoyed it.

The first two songs were quite sad, 'Colourblind' and 'Falling Slowly' from the film 'Once'. As I've already said, I'd never thought of 'Colourblind' as sad but it does work both ways. I'm going to try and put some tracks on youtube. I absolutely loved 'Nessun Dorma'. The deeper notes at the beginning weren't that strong but I do love this and an acapella baritone version I loved. No where to hide and beautifully done.

'Non Piu Andrai' was sung to a young girl who came on stage and was fun. And I love 'Impossible Dream' anyway.

The contrast between the two styles was vivid. Almost an, I sing operatically but I still do this.

Lovely pics Paul. It was nice to meet up.

Then you'll understand why I was unhappy with you using one of mine as your avatar without asking.

the same guy has uploaded camilla k's song too, he says she recovered well from the cock up with the backing track. Did D have a backing track, or just his guitar?

Which one is that?

I'm sure I didn't know it was yours?
