I think I'd like a high proportion of his own work. So, if he wrote one opera style (as in the AT show), 2 musical theatre type and 3 in a style I see as him, I'd be happy. 2 or 3 covers would be OK too. That'd make at least 15 tracks and I'd be pleased with that.

To be eligible for the classical charts, it would have to be 60% classical. I've no idea how they decide whether original songs meet the criteria.

 

I suppose it depends on whether Darius wants to be seen as a classical crossover singer or not. If he does, he may have to put less original material on the next album.

 

I hope we don't have to wait too long to find out but until we do, maybe we should keep an eye on what he sings at events and gigs like Marie Curie UK's.

Let's hope we don't have to wait too long to see.

I agree about The Impossible Dream. I'll be very disappointed if that's not on the album.

I'm just concerned they might not want to put it on because it was on Rhydian's album.

 

Lots of classical acts have a song/aria with which they are always associated. I definitely think that Darius (and Rolando) made a real impact with it on PSTOS. It's a bass baritone song and Darius sings it with great emotion. Rolando was right when he pointed out how appropriate the song was for Darius's story.

 

 

Darius never sees anything as impossible - just not yet achieved.

....... and whenever he does achieve what was thought by others to be impossible for him, he strives for something more challenging yet.

I think if Impossible Dream was to appear on his new album, he should have Rolando dueting as a guest, as it was very impressive on the show. I certainly hope it's not mainly opera! As good as D does it, I'd be very disappointed if it were :(
