I don't like giving too much about my chart away when I don't officially post it until tomorrow, but it goes from #8 to #1 in mine just because of the video. Maybe 'cause I've watched it so much. My chart can seem so messed up sometimes, as I listen to the same 5 songs all week, which make up the top 5, and I haven't really listened to the other 20 in my chart, they just gradually get pushed down by higher up new entries. I also have too many debuting at #1, or spending just one week at #1 :(

I rarely have debuts at #1, it used to be never, now it happens maybe twice a year at most...and one week #1's in my chart are rare, and if they do happen (a la Kom) they seem to hang around for ages in the top 5 anyway...I love the Telephone video but in MF/ESC season, it's hard to get any normal UK release above these songs! this time last year my top 7 was all MF 2009 entries and then Poker Face was #8

The campagin to make it the centrepiece of a future Eurovision themed episode of Glee starts HERE :w00t:

Dear LORD no :o It would have to be Fairytale (Fin), Diva (Rachel), Waterloo (Glee Cast), Hold On Be Strong (Mercedes) and Never Let You Go (Will) as the centrepieces

Sounds like you've already thoroughly thought this one out :P I reckon Love Shine A Light would make an incredibly powerful Glee Cast song, mind you they've already dipped into Katrina's back catalogue :kink:

Love Shine A Light would also be a great Glee Cast song, but I can't see them missing out ABBA for some reason :heehee:

I swear I hadn't thought it out until then :(

Hey, my comments for this week:

2. Timoteij - Kom (1) (CR-2-2-1-2) I'm glad it got one week at the top at least :D

5. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (NEW) (CR-5) Growing on me all the time

21. Salem Al Fakir - Virgin Mary (NEW) (CR-21) I checked out the album, but it didn't strike a chord with me from the previews :(

27. Tom Dice - Me & My Guitar (NEW) (CR-27) Quite nice, but Belarus may have thrown a spanner in the works. Either Belgium or Latvia will miss out now because of the change of song I think

33. Malcolm Lincoln - Siren (NEW) (CR-33) Can't get into this at the moment. Reminds me of Peter Gabriel a bit, so in theory I should like it. It's not bad, I'm just finding it tough to lodge it in my mind, if that makes sense

43. Sugababes - Crash & Burn (NEW) (CR-43) A nice ballad, glad their going to be releasing at least one ballad off this album

50. Safura - Drip Drop (NEW) (CR-50) Could be the winner. I'd be slightly disappointed in it winning, but then I've only ever agreed with one winner since the turn of the century

Sure :kink:

There are so many amazing ESC songs that would fit Glee but it would probably lose a hell of a lot of indie credibility and I'm not entirely sure how it could be worked into the show. European trip?

2. Indeed, but ultimately I prefer Keep On Walking ever so slightly. Can't wait for their album though!

5. Absolutely love this - didn't quite get it on first listen when watching the national final, but with every listen it gets better

21. Shame :( it's definitely an odd album - this is my favourite track besides Keep On Walking

27. I seriously hope it's Latvia then because Belgium need to qualify with this, it's beautiful. Latvia's song is nothing special.

33. I absolutely adore this, have you seen the music video? very odd.

43. Agreed, definitely one of the highlights of a surprisingly good album!

50. Yep, I agree. It's hardly the best song here but to be honest, it's better than three quarters of the songs confirmed so it would be fine by me.

Sure :kink:

European trip would doubtless just be British artist pop, so I'd expect Bleeding Love, Break Your Heart, You're Beautiful, Down etc. -_-

Oh, it would lose so much indie credibility. Here's hoping if it ever gets cancelled it goes out in a blaze of Euroglory :kink:

Very true, sad but true :( Europe = London after all. I can really imagine Down working actually.

Indeed - it can't last forever once the actors grow up/hype fades (bye Ugly Betty :()

Well, the concept itself doesn't leave much room for more than 2/3 seasons - where do you go after you've (inevitably) won nationals? Internationals? Then what?

I can't see much room for plot either...they'll have to reboot a la Skins after 3 seasons, I'm certain.

Depends how it's holding up ratings wise of course. No point rejuvinating a dying brand - plus the originality factor would be gone. I hope it will be huge for about 3 years and go out on a high with a conclusive and triumphant finish, rather than being let to die slowly getting worse and worse with each season, as most US shows seem to.

02 - I hope it's amazing

27 - I'm inclined to agree. Belgium have not been in the final since 2004, and it's a nice entry. Fingers crossed for them! Latvia have more neighbourly support though :(

33 - I haven't. I tend to steer clear of the preview vids as they always look so cheap  . Will have to remember to check it out though.

43 - I loved the album :D

50 - I'm hoping it'll grow on me in the coming months.

27. I'm not saying most of their 2005-2009 entries were actually worthy of being in the final, and obviously Ishtar was an acquired taste, but seriously - how Je T'Adore missed I really don't know - amazing pop song :drama: I've even heard it on UK radio a few times, which is more than can be said for any other ESC song!

33. That I agree with - the UK's preview videos are always dire...Jade's was good though but the BBC were taking it seriously last year. Josh's one will probably be him dancing outside a swimming pool or something

33 - I'm expecting just him and some dancers in front of a yellow or purple background

27. Follow My Heart was immense! Gutting that it didn't make the final :( I guess if it had done though Daz would have done even worse as they were going for a similar audience.

33. Sounds about right  Scooch had the best UK promo video of the last 10 years - cheap but funny!
