March 22, 201015 yr I think LP are slightly bigger than MCR, but as you said, they are about the same size, I was shocked LP played NME last year tbh, it would have to be a massive main stage headliner for MCR to headline NME, not even sure if MCR would accept the NME spot either. Based on rumours: FRI The Libertines Arcade Fire The Cribs nme: Queens of the Stone Age playing 'Queens of the Stone Age' SAT Blink-182 Weezer Paramore nme: Biffy Clyro The Maccabees SUN GnR MCR lostprophets (or lostprophets, MCR) nme: Hole
March 22, 201015 yr I still think Soundgarden could headline too, I wouldnt see them but would fit into Reading right.
March 22, 201015 yr I can't see Weezer subbing Blink. I think they toured together in the US supporting Blink? But i'd be shocked if Paramore were below Weezer. At this moment in time Paramore are much the bigger band. It's pretty exciting really. Aside from Blink, nobody really has any clue as to what the headliners, and other bands are going to be!
March 22, 201015 yr Just heard Reading headliners...been sworn to secrecy but hilarious juxtaposition of 3 nights...unlikely bedfellows :) Off Rob Da Bank's twitter! I am now convinced MCR, Blink and Arcade Fire are not all headlining.
March 22, 201015 yr lots of "reliable" sources saying Libertines not playing, I doubted it in the first place anyway, and these dubious sources are only as dubious as the ones saying they were headlining in the first place, i think it's more there is already a deal for the libertines next year. im going to take the assumption blink are headlining and arcade fire and mcr are subbing but f*** knows who else is headlining. i dont reckon GnR is tbh.
March 23, 201015 yr im really confused about the libertines now, it's starting to piece together. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/1...tines-are-back/ ok now i really dont believe the libs are back if the daily star thinks so.
March 23, 201015 yr Convinced it's Blink - Libertines/Arcade Fire - GnR now Libertines and Arcade Fire co-headline. Just so if anything goes wrong, then there's still a band good enough to headline. I can definitely see Slash playing as well.
March 23, 201015 yr Author Still don't see The Libertines thing but would be amazing if they did. Not fond of the Guns N' Roses rumours. Can't wait for the announcement now, very exciting
March 23, 201015 yr Still don't see The Libertines thing but would be amazing if they did. Not fond of the Guns N' Roses rumours. Can't wait for the announcement now, very exciting I really doubted the Libertines thing, but now they've been pictured together, it's starting to make a bit more sense. Apparently a few people who are well connected to sources within Festival Republic are adamant they're playing, and they've been right in previous years. I've never been overly fussed on the Libs, but it's pretty much every indie kids wet dream to see them, seeing as they split up just as they were getting pretty big. People could have just got the wrong end of the stick, but I think as the days go by, personally it's looking more and more likely that they're going to play.
March 23, 201015 yr Author Wouldn't be surprised if Futureheads are somewhere. Probably about 4th on the main stage I'd imagine
March 23, 201015 yr Wouldn't be surprised if Futureheads are somewhere. Probably about 4th on the main stage I'd imagine They'd fit in well on the day if Libertines/Arcade Fire headline. I'm pretty sure they'll play. Same goes for the likes of MGMT, Biffy Clyro and Klaxons(?). I'm pretty excited for the line-up now. Just hope i'm not disappointed after the build-up the line up has been getting in recent weeks. I'm very sure there's going to be a lot of punk-pop-rock in the line up (Blink, Paramore, You Me At Six, Kids In Glass Houses, Jimmy Eat World) so it should be good!
March 23, 201015 yr Author You Me At Six :D They said they'd be doing a lot of festivals over the summer when I saw them the other week so I am guessing they'll be there. Frank Turner maybe main stage this year. Will see him wherever though

I'm still doubting The Libs but less doubtful than before, where you say 'apparently a few people...' i know for sure there is people who have connected sources and have been right previous years that are adament the libs are playing. i'm going to say it's sort of likely (waaaay more than what i thought a few days ago) but tbh i cant take a poorly constructed daily star article with a photo of just pete and carl a confirmation. Wouldn't be surprised if Futureheads are somewhere. Probably about 4th on the main stage I'd imagine I tweeted them a while ago saying they should play and they replied with 'with any luck we will be' I am a massive fan, seen them 3 times already, one time I saw them was at Reading 2006 on main stage, the worst time I saw them, I think they probaly arent big enough for 4th either, I think it would be awesome if they headlined NME, perferably when there is a $h!t mainstage headliner.
March 23, 201015 yr Author I wouldn't be surprised if Foals headlined NME. Loving their new material so I would be tempted to go and see them
March 23, 201015 yr would be tempted by Foals definatly, maybe not headlining NME, are they that big? i have a feeling there will be a fair bit of clashes this year for me with lots of time there will be no one i want to see. a great NME would be: The Futureheads We Are Scientists Foals Kele Orekeke Art brut
March 23, 201015 yr Author I'd imagine We Are Scientists would play. I think they are better suited to NME than Main Stage anyway.
March 23, 201015 yr How big do you think The Futureheads are? nowhere near big enough to headline NME imo.
March 23, 201015 yr I'd imagine We Are Scientists would play. I think they are better suited to NME than Main Stage anyway. W.A.S on NME in 2007 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> W.A.S on Main in 2008 How big do you think The Futureheads are? nowhere near big enough to headline NME imo. meh, they deserve it.
March 23, 201015 yr Author I think Futureheads would certainly be second if they played NME. I know WAS were on Main in 2008 but I think they suit NME better. Hope Marina is there as well.
March 24, 201015 yr Author From some admin guy on Efestivals: Headliners are:- Guns and Roses Arcade Fire Blink 182. The Libertines are 'special guests'.
