Crystal Castles were my favourite act from last yr. Alice in the crowd, on the shoulders of a guy three rows in front of you = ftw times.

And im certainly going to see the Libs, i've been RIGHT ON them these past couple of weeks since they got rumoured. Excitement Chris.

Also just noticed no MCR afterall... LOL?

yeah since Libs got rumoured I have listened to them loads, hadnt for a while really, my love for them is at a height now.

the tent was mental for crystal castles but i had just eaten so i didnt go into the mental part of the crowd, might have too see them this year if there are no clashes and enjoy them fully.

yeah i noticed no MCR aswell, brilliant news, I was going to bottle them like f***. I was expecting them to be before GnR but instead we have QOTSA, brilliant to see them there instead of MCR.

lol i wouldnt dare do that, not after THAT INCIDENT. tbh i respect the man far too much.

long time no speak fletch.

not a bad lineup at all, if i was going i'd attempt to see arcade fire (obvs, best band playing by far), crystal castles, the cribs, dizzee, modest mouse (below the maccabees? what is this nonsense?), klaxons, foals, band of horses, lcd soundsystem, phoenix, yeasayer, the big pink, two door cinema club.

actually the NME stage is full of <3 while the other ones are mainly $h!t lawlz, but still. would be lots of good things to see, wish i lived in the uk.

saturday is the worst, full of emo pop punk crap.

you have coachella, we have reading, i'm pretty sure you get the better half of the deal. if we didnt have libertines and blink coachella is much better.

yer, that's true. but the problem is the US is effing huge, and ticket prices are expensive as they are, but you need to buy plane tickets on top of it / find a place to stay. $h!t's tough. coachella is easily the best music festival but getting there is literally one of the hardest things ever. in the uk everything's a bit more compact. do you have to fly to get to anywhere? i'm not saying it's a 20 minute drive away but things are so spread out here.

i can't go to coachella anymore. ): bah and all points west is looking like it's going to be cancelled so there are basically no festivals in my life this year. the east coast is so f***ED when it comes to music festivals, it's ridiculous. without APW we have literally nothing (besides like warped tour / virgin mobile and LOLOL @ the thought of going to those, though virgin always snags some credible acts). you'd think with new york / boston / baltimore / dc we'd have SOMETHING worthwhile / indie but no.

still, me and some friends are considering driving out for bonnaroo next year and i'll probably hit up coachella after i'm done with college.

Reading Fest is actually a 20 minute drive for me lol.

i do get what you mean though, i'd hate it if gigs are quite spread out in the US aswell, isnt a tour normally like 3 dates per state or something lame like that.

The line-up this year is pretty good. Matches a lot of the other festivals. I've heard a lot of people say the line-up is crap, but it's not. The line-up is very varied, probably the most varied of all the main festivals this summer. A few people are saying the headliners are crap, but Blink, GnR and Arcade Fire are good headliners. A lot of people don't probably appreciate Arcade Fire as headliners which is well... wrong. It's why i'm expecting the NME tent to be RAMMED when Pendulum play.

Blink-182 - i'm sure this is their only UK appearance so far this summer? MASSIVE steal. Libertines reforming, again massive steal. Plus the likes of Weezer, Paramore, Queens - none of those bands are playing any other UK festivals as far as i'm aware, so massive steal again.

One thing though - i'm not convinced LCD Soundsystem are going to headline NME. I reckon there's another band to be announced to headliner, not sure who though.

Reading Fest is actually a 20 minute drive for me lol.

LOL lucky.

and yeah, when a band tours in the US a lot of times they'll hit up the same state twice in different places (though not that often). typically like an east coast tour would hit up VA, then MD/DC, then PA, then NJ occasionally, and then to NY / Boston. And when a band tours in the US it's usuaully east coast / west coast / midwest / south. You can't do all of them in one go; it'd be ridiculous.

to see anyone live i usually have either 40 minute drive to DC or a 1 hour 30 minute drive to baltimore (though i live in baltimore now so that makes things a lot easier, unfortunately DC gets all the best shows). i've even driven like 2 / 3 hours to virginia to see feist and radiohead. everything is soooo spread out here is ridiculous. i just want to live in NY eventually, everyone tours there.

Line up is amazing. Don't get why Lostprophets are below Biffy though. Can't wait for The Libertines and Blink

i agree rooney, they have loads of good exclusives.

blink-182 - only England shows (probaly UK), and first since 2003

Arcade Fire - first comeback shows annouced aswell asprobaly only UK dates

GNR - probaly only UK shows- and are the first for awhile

Libertines - them reuniting is massive, and it's the only shows for now

QOTSA - only UK shows this year

Weezer - first UK shows since 2005

Cypress Hill - pretty sure it's their first UK show for awhile

Modest mouse - been a while I think?

Klaxons - first comeback shows annouced

there is a group on facebook called something like 'Who are Arade Fire and what are they doing headlining my festival' im not that big of a AF fan but that group still makes me want to band my head against the wall.

Arcade Fire could be well one of the weekends highlights. They were brilliant in 2008. Here's hoping their third album is just as good as the first two

Arcade Fire will be amazing. Proper festival moment. I think it's a dangerous choice, and i'm 100% sure there'll be a bigger crowd for both Dizzee Rascal and the Libertines than Arcade Fire, but the people who are wondering about Arcade Fire are just being ignorant to music. I'm not a huge fan, but i'm gonna get into their stuff. At least all of the knobs will be at Pendulum. Honesty that tent is going to be rammed. Brave choice by FR to put them in a tent headlining after last time.

But it seems the majority are happy with the line-up - metal, rock, indie, dance, drum n' bass, pop-punk - so vaired. Really pleased with the line-up so far after thinking it was going to be a disappointment.

No question the line up is really good, even though if one or two of the acts Blink-182 & Klaxons were playing in my back garden I would draw the curtains and put some headphones on.

As long as Pete shows up I think The Libertines will be the talking point of the weekend. I'm excited just thinking about their performance. Annoyed I will miss Foals and WaS :(
