Thrice are playing?! I'm absolutely thrilled now. :D Even though I preferred last year's line-up (unfortunately couldn't go last year), there's now quite a lot of acts I like playing.

For anyone that hasn't managed to get hold of tickets to some of these great festivals coming up, I'm currently working on a great campaign called ‘Summer of Give’, launched by v this year.

The campaign offers 18-25 year olds in England the chance to get FREE festival tickets this summer – we're simply asking people to volunteer their time and talents in return for festival tickets at Isle of Wight, V Festival, T4 on the Beach, Relentless Boardmasters and Creamfields.

If you have a skill to share and show other festival go-ers, then log on to www.vinspired.com/summeofgive and tell v what you can do. So whether it's music, dance, photography, writing or even fashion styling skills that make you stand out from the crowd, v needs your help to entertain at each festival for just four hours a day. That’s it!

18-25 year olds looking for more general volunteering opportunities at festivals can still visit vinspired.com to see how else they can get involved in the festival scene for free this summer.

All the fun with none of the costs - what more could you ask for?!

LOCK UP STAGE:

(the days are Reading so just switch them to what the Leeds days are)

Friday 27th August

Alkaline Trio, Sick Of It All, Against Me!, Hatebreed, Streetlight Manifesto, Strike Anywhere, This Is Hell, Static Thought, Civet, The Skints, Crazy Arm and Blood Or Whiskey.

Saturday 28th August

Bad Religion, The Get Up Kids, Cancer Bats, Zebrahead, Crime In Stereo, RX Bandits, Trash Talk, Paint It Black, Off With Their Heads and Moral Dilemma.

---

This is my favourite stage, i'm pretty f***ing happy, particulary about Alkaline Trio, I have been wanting to see them for ages, and also Streetlight Manifesto who are one of my favourite bands ever, and it will be the 5th time I see them (and the 4th time is only a week before Reading!).

EDIT:

NME.com leaked dance stage:

Reading Sunday/Leeds Saturday

Roots Manuva

Magnetic Man

Metronomy

Four Tet

Chiddy Bang

Holy f***

Health

Japanese Popstars

Lights

Rusko

Sub Focus

L’Amour Lamorgue (Leeds only)

Dont really care tbh, might see HEALTH depending on clashes.

Do yourself a favour and see Holy f*** live. Entirely analogue dance music and one of the most exciting live acts in the world. Which is why they're on before f***ing Chiddy Bang. Festivals aren't what they used to be.

And more...

The King Blues are the final name to be added to The Main Stage.

Kids In Glass Houses, Hadouken!, 3OH!3, Band Of Skulls, Everything Everything, Rolo Tomassi have joined the Saturday line-up on the NME/Radio 1 Stage along with Miike Snow, Los Campesinos!, Local Natives and Goldheart Assembly who all play on Sunday.

Every should see ATARI TEENAGE RIOT, I saw them last month, so good and intense live, better than when I saw The Prodigy at Reading last year. Also, why are Ash, former Reading and Leeds subheadliners and NME stage headliners, now on the smallest stage? very werid.

:s no they dont.

Arcade Fire even. Still bad :(

im stuck between arcade fire, bad religion and ash, im not that into bad relgion tbh, pendulum i have seen before/hate the new album/all the twats will see them. Arcade Fire will be epic, but although i've seen Ash before, they will be amazing on such a small stage.
yeah since Libs got rumoured I have listened to them loads, hadnt for a while really, my love for them is at a height now.

the tent was mental for crystal castles but i had just eaten so i didnt go into the mental part of the crowd, might have too see them this year if there are no clashes and enjoy them fully.

yeah i noticed no MCR aswell, brilliant news, I was going to bottle them like f***. I was expecting them to be before GnR but instead we have QOTSA, brilliant to see them there instead of MCR.

I'm annoyed I didn't get tickets for Leeds now. QOTSA will be utterly amazing but tbh MCR, with a new album to promote and songs like Black Parade that they can actually do justice to live, would still have blown GnR away. Axl isn't up to it but I'll be very pleased to be proved wrong. Biffy and Lostprophets as 3rd and 4th is just ridiculously good.

Arcade Fire and Pendulum on the same day is just like have two headliners really. Both will be great in completely different ways. The Blink day will be fantastic, great to have them back and I'm just bloody glad I've got tickets to see Paramore in November so I'm not kicking myself about this.

I'd have Axl Rose's GNR cover band over MCR any day, but I wont see "GnR" anyway, MCR are possibly the worst band ever (either them or Fall Out Boy) where as QOTSA are an incredible live band.

so soon. im getting well excited now, its probaly because this time last year i barely cared. f*** yeah to good line ups making me fall back in love with the festival.
Guys, I just saw Arcade Fire at Merriweather Post Pavilion a few days ago. It was mindblowing. Even if you're a casual fan, you'll be missing out if you don't see it.
