General thread for clearly the greatest Swedish-Syrian artist of all time, currently making waves with new album 'Ignore This'. Lead single is Melodifestivalen runner-up 'Keep On Walking', which if I do say so myself is one of the most exquisite three minutes of the year thus far, although Salem is also courting hipsters with a stand-out performance as alter ego Damien Adore on Staygold's electrofunk odyssey 'Backseat', which is officially my seduction anthem of 2010.

 

Given he's (at least indirectly) responsible for two of the three best tracks of 2010 to date, you'd all be INSANE not to take a listen at least. The album's pretty damned good too, but shockingly eclectic - a very left-field and sophisticated effort from one of the most interesting artists of the year so far!

He's brilliant - kudos for Jessica Andersson's guest appearance in the video to Keep On Walking there, judging by the still :lol:

 

The album is indeed very mixed, but all good - if not particularly cohesive. I can't believe Brooklyn Sun and Keep On Walking sit next to Red Rock and the instrumentals!

 

Backseat and Keep On Walking are probably my two favourite songs of the year thus far :wub:

 

I'm quite disappointed it took until now for him to become properly famous though, I've been (Damien) Adoring him for a few years now! Better late than never for people to realise his charms though, Astronaut really was one of the most charming songs of last year.

Do you know if the songs on his album are on YouTube (in their studio versions), or whether there is somewhere else I can listen to his album without having to buy/download it?
