Chinese New Year is on January 5 I think, so are China 5 days behind Australia?

No the chinese new year is in aug, cse last year when i was on holidays, all these waiters were always saying happy new year, oh wait no, i think it was happy xmas they were saying?? I duno the chinese calander is ****ed up anyway, lol, how did everyone get talking about this in a Delta forum?

This is crazy. Chinese New Year is on a slightly different day every year. This year it was on Jan 29. Btw it's the year of the dog. WOOF!!

Every month there are 28 days, because that follows the moon.

Chinese months don't have names - they're just first month, second month, third month, etc.

Due to the 28 days, some years have 13 months, to make up for the loss of days.

Anyway, the point here is that "July the 8th" in the lunar calendar would be the 8th day of the 7th month of that year.

And that will be the same day as the 1st August in the solar calendar of that year, which follows the sun.

I hope you've all learnt something.
