I think it's fairly popular, but I've never heard of an album being sold on a shopping channel before, apart from those 'greatest 80's jukebox anthems' things, and I can't imagine they sell in huge quantities. I wonder how much she'll be selling it at? I guess 7pm is likely to attract her sort of 'dining and wining' audience though who will be home from work, but then again, I always imagine her to have quite a mature classy fanbase, would they really be watching QVC?

Agreed. Although it was out of tune/not sung properly by the other two :drama:

Same, the e-mail I got said she's the first to perform and sell her music through QVC in the UK. (apparently it's been done in the US and apparently John Barrowman did it here, only he didn't perform) I think she seems to be selling the last album and the Greatest Hits in a package together for £15. Not exactly the best deal (you can probably get it cheaper in the shops) but that's probably the trend with QVC. Haha of course, classy people like me never watch QVC. :smoke:

I know. :( I'd like to think, if Esma didn't forget the lyrics, she'd have won but she wasn't a very likeable character.

Oh right  I wonder if they add postage on top of that too? Yeah, if you look through the right bargain bins/value charts you can probably pick up the two for about £8/9 in shops :heehee: I haven't actually watched QVC in years, my mum used to order all sorts of tat off it :drama: but then internet shopping came along!

I agree, she seemed a bit too full of her own importance. Josh seemed likeable, but dull. The other finalist seemed completely uninteresting to me, I can't recall anything about him other than his face.

Oh dear, probably, hopefully it's just the 'QVC Price' and they have it on 'discount'. You can almost certainly get them on the cheap online, if not in shops. Haha same, like you say, it was more of a 90s thing for me.

Definitely, she was quite full of herself and I wanted to like her. (being the only decent female ) I think Josh seemed a bit of a posh boy for me, couldn't really get behind him. I expect we're destined for bottom 5 either way. :(

Haha, watching this now - might as well, I've got nothing else to watch until Eastenders then Glee...bizarre way to sell music, she's selling herself as a product  I'm guessing it won't qualify for the chart though seeing as it's a double pack not available elsewhere - ooh, it's signed Aaron, you'd better get it for yourself!

I know what you mean, he does seem a bit unlikeable as well. Bottom 3 seems more apt I expect :drama:

Yay, someone else tuning in. It is a bit of a weird way to sell, this is more of an interview/performance hour - which is fine by me. That performance was a bit of a mix between the normal version and the extended version she usually does live. I suppose it won't count, but sometimes boxsets do? Either way, money is money I suppose, doesn't matter if it charts. I would, but I already met her on tour and got her to sign 6 album booklets. (hoping to get "Who I Am" signed when I see her next)

Oh I hope it doesn't do that badly, hopefully he does a European tour like Jade did.

Well I'm a semi fan I guess so I'm quite happy to watch it, she comes across as extremely likeable/funny. At least it might help to raise her profile a bit to viewers who wouldn't usually get the chance to see her.

I doubt the BBC will throw any money at it, he'll turn up on the night having barely rehearsed, give a lacklustre performance, everybody apart from Malta and Ireland will forget about it and we'll end up with 9 points. Of 'the big 4' I'm certain that Germany will do best this year - loving their song/artist

Oh yes, she certainly does, lovely woman. Yeah, the signed copies sold out already, which is good. (well, unless there were only about 50 signed copies )

Haha, oh no, that'd be awful. I thought they were going to try again like last year. :drama: Will check out Germany later then!

haha, loved the 'hand cramp' thing

I think they were trying to get a better name to be honest (heard this from an 'insider' I know), but they ended up with Pete Waterman as a much better name apparently pulled out at the last minute :(

Not sure what you'll think of the German entry, it's second favourite with the bookies and debuted at #1 in Germany this week with 150,000 downloads sold (a new record there) so it's a big big hit in Europe already, which is why I'm guessing the odds are so good for it. She has a voice that will split opinion though - be warned :heehee: The lyrics are as corny as Butterflies as well by the way

Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite

It feels like the sort of 'quirky' European female that I'd be inclined to send to BJSC to be honest :heehee:

Haha yes. She promised to sign them if we see her on tour though, which is good. I need my last one signed. Not liking how I'm being forced to watch them shift this rubbish now, bring back Bev. <_<

:o Who was this better name supposed to be?!

That song isn't that bad actually! Don't think her voice is that annoying. I can see what you mean regarding BJSC, it does sound a bit like a Rontvia entry. :o

Yeah, it wasn't long until she went off screen was it :( I don't need overpriced speakers!

Not sure, they never said, it was all very hush hush but it can't have been worse than Pete Waterman :drama:

It's a grower too - I thought it was irritating on first listen but now it's probably my favourite ESC song of this year, the chorus is like a fungus  It feels a bit like a successor to Kongulo/Jungle Drum or something  I was considering one of the other two songs I've heard by her but they're nowhere near as good to be honest...yet they're at #3 and #4 in Germany while this song's at #1, they're obsessed with her!

Woo, she appears to be back for the last 15 minutes. Perhaps they weren't selling many. :( Surely it's better than the rubbish they were trying to shift though?!

Oh right, I suppose that's a good point, considering how people tend to look at his music these days.

Yeah, that what I mean, I suppose it's a bit Aura Dione as well. (which ended up as a Zechonia entry in the end!) Wow, they really are obsessed by her. :o I suppose she's bound to get a decent result.

Agreed! I'm sure it will have sold fine, they never keep the same product up for an hour do they? Never knew this was written for Tina Turner, she could have actually had a respectable comeback lead single with this!

Yeah definitely, Germany love these quirky singers - Jungle Drum and I Will Love You Monday both got to #1 there, both long after I'd sent/considered sending them. It had already been #1 when Zech eventually sent it and I was long bored of it  I'm tempted to put money on it as something tells me it could run away with it a la Fairytale but then on the other hand, it's Germany...they never do well these days :drama:

Ah, I suppose not. It seems to have sold fine though, she sold those extra 200 signed copies in about 5 minutes. :o (and I think there may have been 500 originally) A lot more than she would have sold this week, without adding the normal editions.

Oh yes, she's been asked about it in pretty much every bit of promotion she's done for it. Being an obsessive loon, I've heard her tell that story probably...five times or so. I think Tina would have been brilliant on it too, it's got a bit of a "Proud Mary" vibe about it. Not that I'm sure I believe the whole Tina story. I know she co-wrote it with Guy Chambers, but I've never heard of Beverley writing for other artists, so it seems a bit random that she kept the first song she wrote for someone else.

I didn't realise "Jungle Drum" had done it too! Looks like a good source of inspiration. (though I suppose, sending "I Like", I've had my share of German #1 entries) This is true, but the years I've followed it, they've had a decent performer with a rubbish song and rubbish performers with a decent song.
