Whilst they're best remembered for their 'First Picture of You' single from 1983 and the great 'No Sense Of Sin' album, I managed to get a copy of their 2002 album 'Silentspace' on amazon recently - and... it's brilliant. If you love the early material, you'll love this - similar, but obviously updated... in a good way ;)

They've lost none of their songwriting ability - each and every track on the album sounds like it could've been a single - and here's a track from the album, 'Stereovision'.

Silentspace is mid-priced and definitely worth checking out - also, good news is that No Sense of Sin is being re-released, too, at an affordable, reasonable price at last.

I remember this band very well, and hardly anything apart from "The First Picture Of You", it was a very hot summer, just before I was going on holiday and the music at the time with "Love Blonde" by Kim Wilde and "Every Breath You Take" by The Police if my memory serves me right. That was a very good summer for music.

indeed it was hot mikey, it was the year i got married and moved into a brand new starter home, 'the first picture of you' brings back memories of that summer.

the summer of 83 wasn't it? And then just after, my summer got spoilt when Yazoo announced they were splitting

The long hot summer of 1983 I will forever associate with a Style Council tune.

I think you can guess which one.

...the video was always more memorable than the song, though :naughty:
The Last Picture of You and Bananarama's Cruel Summer remind me of leaving school, fond memories :)
