Posted March 31, 201015 yr If you were Mariah's management team, how would you have handled the single releases..? Firstly, I would have stuck to the same sound as the album is now but just give it that slight edge by doing early promo campaigns using teasers and preview clips of some of the tracks. For the single releases, this would have been my preferred order: 1 - Obsessed (Great way to begin the era. Would have planned more promotion in the UK and released it at the end of August.) 2 - Angel's Cry (Would have released this as the second single as it shows Mariah at her best and also shows that she still has the voice given the right material. Would have had her perform on the X Factor and would have made the video more of a storyteller. Released mid November.) 3 - Standing O (Would have shown another side to the album compared to the previous two singles. The video would have a good concept to it e.g. Mariah teaching an ex a thing of two after playing her. Released end of February.) 4- Up Out My Face (A fun song to see into the beginning of the summer. Would have the current video which as already been filmed for it as it shows the fun side of Mariah and would release it mid May.) 5 - Hate U (A nice warm ballad to end othe summer and the era. Shows Mariah at her best yet again, but still this ballad is different comapred to some of her other ballads from previous albums. The video would have Mariah on a deserted island staring at a vision of herself and an ex. Released at end of August.) For the album release, I would have released it two weeks after Angel's cry. That way, the two singles would have had time to build up the anticipation for the album and would have capatilised on the xmas sales. I would have had her to do alot more promotion for this album in the UK and also tried to get her an hour slot on ITV to perform some tracks from the album along with some classis tracks. Just before the album's release, I would have got her to do a one off concert at wembley arena just so the public could see that she still does have her voice and that way, the public would have also got more excited over the release of the album. How would you have planned this era if you were in charge..?
March 31, 201015 yr i like ur idea a LOT :kink: If i was in charge i would've started the era off with: i.) Obsessed - this has to be the best song off 'Memoirs' perfect starter and if a lot of promotion was done could've been a worldwide smash.. She should've released this in the UK around the same time in the US, in my opinion it could've peaked at #4 in the UK with a decent chart run in contrast to TMB.. (4-5-9-11-12-20-22-26-34-38-44-45-57-67-70-X) ii.) Angels Cry - i agree that this should've been the second single, without a doubt it showcases Mariah's talent. It would've also been the perfect song to perform on the X Factor and released alongside the album. In my opinion this would probably peak Top 20 in the UK (around #12 with a short chart run) and i think it'll bomb in the US (#43) seeing the follow up of TMB - Bye Bye (which in my opinion was epic) epically flopped :(... iii.) Up Out My Face - third single IMO since the other songs (bar IWTKWLI, HATEU & BGK) are not single-worthy... i still think she wont last a third single even if she did it this way... I think after this a re-release would've been suitable. OR iii.) I Want To Know What Love Is - i personally adore this song  and i think it would've done better as a single than UOMF.. i don't think it'll be a hit though.. iv.) NEW SONG - a re-release would probably give the album longevity in the charts.. it's a shame Mariah's management just messed this era up big time... v.) WORLD TOUR - she hasn't toured the UK for ages -_-
