Going back on topic for a moment... I get the impression that there is hostility from Chris's corner is partly due to the fact that Taylor Momsen from crap telly prog Gossip Girl is in the band... TBH, taken on their own merits, they're alright, sound a little bit like Hole or The Runaways... Wouldn't rush to see them, but they pass time on the tube or the bus...

I like them a lot, their album is really solid.

 

I think they'd be taken a bit more seriously if the singer wasn't in Gossip Girl or seen as a "bratty teenager", but then again I've never watched Gossip Girl in my life so don't really know or care who she is.

TBH, I think they should rename the band to "The Pretty Alright".... :lol: :lol:

 

Never bothered with "Gossip Girl" beyond the pilot episode tbh (really NOT my thing), so was prepared to give them a chance... Like I say, they're pretty alright, but nothing special... :)

 

Taylor hasn't given herself a good image overall in the media so i don't think her character on gossip girl may have contributed in not taking them seriously. Well that's opinion.

Gossip Girl and the band are amazing, but Taylor Momsen is the most unlikeable vile skank I've ever seen, so it's gonna be hard pushed for them to be successful or more critically acclaimed.

I don't see how they are pop. They are easily in the same league as Paramore.

I actually quite like Taylor Momsen. She clearly plays up to the whole bratty, trashy panda-eyes teenager thing pretty well.

In what sense..? Sorry, but I dont particularly pay attention to Tabloids/Gossip, etc (unless it's something that an artist that's done that's majorly reprehensible, like spout racist or homophobic crap), I'm usually more concerned with the quality of the music....

From what I can gather, she just acts a bit bratty and plays up to it in interviews, and tries to act 'rebellious' by drinking and such. Nothing that bad, she's probably just going through that difficult stage of her teenage life. :lol:

Either "Goin' Down" or "Factory Girl".. Sadly they'll probably go with "My Medicine" as I swear it's Taylor's other favorite TPR song.

Goin' Down is crazy good, the lyrics are actually quite controversial though.

Still, it's one of the best on the album.

I'm hoping for 'Goin' Down', I'd really look forward to the video!

According to their management's (?) Twitter, they're coming over for a UK tour in May, which will include performing at O2 Shepherds Bush.

 

I'm not sure how accurate this is though, since on their Facebook they say that Taylor's Twitter is the band's one, whilst the Twitter that is called The Pretty Reckless says they're the management...
