Posted April 1, 201015 yr Did anyone see the strange posting on the Unity forum last friday. Although the Moderators took the whole topic off pretty quickly. <_< A Unity member claimed that in The International Who's Who for 2008 Enya's entry claimed that she had married that guy Sergio Casado in 2002. Not very likely but certainly strange all the same. What do the rest of you think about it.
April 1, 201015 yr Yes, I did see said topic at Unity.....I didn't put much stock in the purported claims that she married Sergio.....as someone else pointed out, Sergio did write a biography, which I think was unauthorised....as you're probably well aware at Unity, discussions of Enya's private life are frowned upon greatly, and, since that topic dealt, in some small fashion, with her private life, I can see why it was removed....Aigle Studios, which I'm sure you also know, is officially sponsoring Unity, and all that goes on there, more than likely has had some hand in that particular topic's removal from the site....just my 2 pence......
April 6, 201015 yr Author I have just tried to check out this companies on-line archive at www.worldwhoswho.com but did not have much luck. :( Maybe someone else could give it a go. The only other way to check out this rather strange story would be to ask Mr. Casado himself I guess. Does anyone know how to contact him. <_< Edited April 6, 201015 yr by Clare
April 6, 201015 yr I doubt she got married, especially not as long ago as 2002, it would surely have been leaked by now! Besides, Enya was pretty busy in 2002, promoting 'Only Time' and writing 'May It Be', and we all know how she likes to take her time over things!

April 11, 201015 yr I just read this about Sergio Casado, here is a picture of the biography and a blurb about it. http://discography.enya.com/images/books/09_01c.jpg In Spanish. 124 pages with 11 photographs. Contains a biography, chapters about every album and a small discography covering 1985-1997. Author: Sergio Casado (courtesy of the enya.com discography)
April 12, 201015 yr Author Eithne being married seems unlikely, but I was thinking maybe this Sergio Casado is an ex- boyfriend. <_< Angry at being dumped by Eithne (who wouldn't be) he put these stories about in a fit of peak. She was supposed to have had a Spanish boyfriend sometime around 1997-1998 afterall. What do you think. April 18, 201015 yr Do you suppose it's worth spending £340 to discover if this is, in fact, printed in the book? And if it is, to use the convenient hard-cover edition to bash in the author's head? see listing Edited April 18, 201015 yr by alonenotlonely

April 20, 201015 yr Enya wrote May It Be in 2000 / 2001 FYI.....so the timeline is possible. Enya's personal life NEVER interested me, but it would seem unlikely she is married, at least, for this long and have it be unknown by so many in the media.
April 20, 201015 yr ENYA (Eithne Casado), m Sergio Casado 2002 You can find it in The International Who's Who 2004 - Page 495 Edited April 21, 201015 yr by Ricky

That's a good point TS, but I do remember Kate Bush pulling off a similar stunt. <_<
April 20, 201015 yr Then again, that same page states that Eithne's father's name is Leon. This is making me giggle and roll on the floor, somebody really should get to them about correcting these little errors... ROTFMOTMFMML  I promise, this one's not true. April 20, 201015 yr OMG http://books.google.com/books?id=sR4Ch1dMe...p;q&f=false As alonenotlonely said, there's not a chance this being correct.....all the mis-information is most hilarious.....in fact, just running the word 'casado' through a language translator, it comes out 'married'.....don't see what the big stink is in wanting to know her marital status is, anyways.....it's really none of out business....just seems like people are wanting to know just for the sake of knowing, so they can grouse about that, too......
April 20, 201015 yr In case any of you needed *more* proof that this is a silly rumour, here we have Sergio himself, on his blog. In case you don't speak Spanish (and no, I don't,) I've run it through the ever-helpful Google Translator: Sergio Casado on Enya (sorry for terrible Google translation): "Enya I started my research in 1996, but things moved slowly, and Chair in 1998 actually became interested in publishing my work. It has become quite outdated and I was a beginner in approaching a project of this caliber. But it remains the only book published in Castilian on the Irish singer and some parts I think stands up pretty well. It was published in 1999 and I think that was decisive for a job interview after accepting me as a record seller in FNAC Zaragoza. Even in the labor field, this book was important to me. Before the publication of a book about Enya, I was already working on a next project on Sinéad O'Connor. It's work that was done with greater affection and interest on my part. The previous book was done with fear and I think it was like training for this, which gave me more and better. My passion for Sinéad came around with her song "This is to mother you", which appeared in the mini-album "Gospel Oak." I heard a lot this album at the time of the kidnapping and murder of Miguel Angel Blanco, and has been instrumental to me and decided to write about Sinéad." Now, what does that book say about Sinéad's marital status? Edited April 20, 201015 yr by alonenotlonely
April 21, 201015 yr I'm not buying it. :P We're never really going to know, but I'm not interested in her personal life, so I'm fine with that.
