I personally would prefer three top 20 hits that last long, three number 1s that drop Mcfly-style quickly become forgotten, top 20 hits that are long running usually mean that the song is good, there have been many excellent songs that have made top 20 but have gone on to become modern classics

 

so that would matter to me

IMO three long-selling, lower-placed, singles would be better,as they will boost your album more.
