01 - It's not really a resemblance as such, it just seems like a song that will click randomly with loads of people and might end up doing a similar sort of thing as the 2001 winner. It's very catchy and very fun!

07 - I had no idea :o Will have to order it! It's been a good few years since the last one came out, well the last one I noticed anyway

I'm looking forward to entering. The thing I'll probably find difficult is keeping up with what artists/songs are being entered/used in National finals!

I was very disappointed about Cheryl. Have entered Amy Macdonald this month, so hopefully I'll get good points from central Europe at least

1. Possibly, I certainly agree there. Although it could come across as a disaster on stage. Imagine if Akon and David Guetta entered for France with Sexy Chick or something  I wonder how that would do!

7. Indeed, 3 or 4 years back - really looking forward to the updated contests/stats pages!

Yeah, there's a system to 'reserve' 5 artists so that people don't get their wires crossed, it's all in one or two main threads - you don't have to read everyone's separate country thread to keep track of things.

Ah yes this is true, you can't fail with Amy MacDonald :heehee:

01 - Top 5 at least I would have thought. David Guetta was rumoured to be entering this year. Would be great to have him there, just imagine if When Love Takes Over was the French entry :o

Oh right, that sounds quite simple then!

Haha, well I've come top 10 twice with her in the past, so hopefully it'll be a third time in a row. I kind of don't want to win this edition, but do want to get a top 10 placing.

1. Would have been amazing. They always send something fresh - I'd love to see David Guetta at ESC!

I'm not exactly a mega fan of her new album sadly, despite repeated listens. Hope album #3 is more melodic :drama: I do like the two singles though.

Have uploaded what I hope will be my BJSC entry for next month onto youtube (the one I was talking about earlier) - it has a bridge reminiscent of Corrs' Irresistible somehow but the rest is electropop - love it though

If she gets a third album. Hopefully she will. A Curious Thing is strong but most of the songs aren't very catchy :(

That's really good! :D It's kind of like Lili & Susie meets The Veronicas

Agreed on all points there, takes a while to stick but the songwriting shows progression.

haha, nice comparison! I can see where you're coming from with both!

Hi Richard :D

Let's see what we have here ^_^ Just posted in Martin's chart thread so might end up repeatin myself a little.

1. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (5) (CR-5-5-1)

Of the Eurovision entries I have heard, this is amongst my top 5 faves. Brilliant contemporary track that should like a genuine chart hit without the ESC2010 tag.

2. Caro Emerald - A Night Like This (2) (CR-13-8-4-2-2)

Brilliant to see this doing so well for you. I suspect this is going to stall at no. 2 as you're likely to have Eurovision dominating your chart until early June. :D

3. Boyzone - Gave It All Away (3) (CR-4-2-6-9-13-12-5-4-7-3-3)

4. Safura - Drip Drop (10) (CR-50-10-4)

Still my fave Eurovision entry with Germany probably second at the moment. However, I read that they were going to change it and add an Eastern musical breakdown or something. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The version that Boyan posted was excellent. Ok, Sarufa doesn't exactly pronounce some of the words that well but overall the song itself if still brilliant.

6. Kate Nash - Do Wah Doo (8) (CR-44-25-12-8-6)

7. Timoteij - Kom (4) (CR-2-2-1-2-4-7)

8. Niamh Kavanagh - It’s For You (9) (CR-38-3-6-9-8)

10. Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life (6) (CR-28-7-3-6-10)

11. Roll Deep - Good Times (25) (CR-49-25-11)

13. Lady GaGa feat Beyoncé - Telephone (7) (CR-34-13-6-7-8-8-10-16-22-26-34-45-43-39-37-19-16-8-7-13) Longest Runner

15. Mika - Kick Ass (13) (CR-17-13-15)

Poor Mika. If this had been released in 2007 it would've gone top 10 easily. However, the UK have moved onto new artists so I reckon this will be top 30. Europe will love this track - especially after the success of 'Rain' in Central Europe. I actually think 'Kiss Ass' is Mika's single so far off this album, moreso than 'We Are Golden'.

16. Train - Hey Soul Sister (21) (CR-26-21-16)

17. Staygold feat Spank Rock, Lady Tigra and Damien Adore - Backseat (14) (CR-4-1-1-1-3-5-10-14-17)

23. Inna - Hot (12) (CR-21-17-13-8-11-15-15-16-12-23)

24. Chipmunk feat Esmée Denters - Until You Were Gone (30) (CR-38-30-24)

25. Stromae - Alors On Danse (39) (CR-41-39-25)

Give yourself another European language no. 1 single. You know you want to!!! :P New at #10 for me and looking set to climb in my chart next week.

30. Diana Vickers - Once (Re-entry) (CR-30-30-42-OUT-30)

31. Hora Björk - Je Ne Sais Quoi (28) (CR-50-17-9-8-11-20-32-OUT-28-31)

32. Scouting For Girls - This Ain’t A Love Song (45) (CR-45-45-32)

34. Three Plus Two - Butterflies (NEW) (CR-34)

Aah yes, the Belarus entry. I quite like this - very unusual for Eurovision which might be a good thing in the long run. Oh, and is it just me who thinks the lad who sings the first few lines looks like one of the lads out of McFly?

37. Alexandra Burke feat Pitbull - All Night Long (32) (CR-40-32-37)

42. Edward Maya feat Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love (Re-entry) (CR-38-37-35-28-34-OUT-42)

It might seem really old news to me but it's pleasing to see Radio 1 support this. 'Stereo Love' going to no. 1 in the UK would be fantastic. I'll be charting follow up single 'This Is My Life' within the next couple of weeks.

43. Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment (46) (CR-46-43)

I much prefer 'Whataya Want From Me'. Considering 'For Your Entertainment' has been getting loads of airplay on the music channels, I'm surprised it's still hovering around #100 on iTunes. I'd have expected the track to have shot up by now. Maybe Adam Lambert won't be as successful in the UK as people may have initially thought.

45. Kelis - Acapella (NEW) (CR-45)

48. Marina And The Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot (NEW) (CR-48)

18. Timbaland feat Justin Timberlake - Carry Out (23) (CR-49-49-OUT-23-18)

23. Inna - Hot (12) (CR-21-17-13-8-11-15-15-16-12-23)

43. Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment (46) (CR-46-43)

45. Kelis - Acapella (NEW) (CR-45)

1. I agree, it's brilliant - hope it does well in ESC and internationally in the charts!

2. It's a strong possibility, but No.2 is still incredibly impressive! Great song

4. Agreed, it's a brilliant song and doesn't require any tampering with - I love it as it is!

15. Agreed, although I do really like this song - moreso than Rain and Blame It On The Girls anyway.

25. Haha, we'll see! This is a massive grower, I can see why it's huge in Europe.

34. Not looked that closely at the video so can't justify your comparison - will watch it again later. Great song, affected slightly by dire pronunciation/accents.

42. I'm really pleased they're supporting it too - hope it does well here, I'm thinking mid-low top ten for it rather than #1 but who knows?

43. I'm not a huge fan of Whataya Want From Me although it's alright. Liking this quite a bit but it's hardly anything amazing.

Thanks Shine :D

Well yeah basically, although Numayania want Psycho too, and if the contest really is in 6 weeks I'm not sure I'll still be loving it as much...interesting to see you're considering something different, what do you have in mind? :o

Psycho seems very instant, probably too instant, I think I've overplayed in the last week lol. Well I was originally considering She & Him but that seems a firm favourite with too many countries considering, a few of my new entries are possibilities (Lissie & Shiny Toy Guns) but I haven't really decided yet. My main aim is to avoid something too pop-ish but we'll see. :P

Ah ok - yeah I know what you mean - I think that's why I love it so much. But I found Victorious instant and had got over it by the 3rd listen, hence the sad lack of pointage :drama: :( I don't expect Psycho to last long on me either - although Music Everywhere was in my top ten for about 5 months and that was ridiculously instant, so who knows!?! I'll look forward to your radical change of direction then :kink:

As much as I love Victorious, it still leaves me wanting more, the final key change is such a non event. :( I was shocked to see it finish top 10 actually after it was pretty much bottom 5 throughout the results and the odds were predicting mid-table. I think it's becoming clear that the contest is changing again and the Scandi love is finally dying out, it's a shame but it's the natural cycle I guess. I want to send something completely different but it's no good saying it if I haven't found anything suitable yet, the first step is to avoid generic scandi-pop I guess :P

Easier said than done when it's where your heart lies I guess. I made a conscious effort to avoid it the other month and ended up sending Backseat - pop from Scandinavia! ok, not schlager pop but still...
