They've never had to rely on The X Factor :S

Performing on the show is just a bonus and obviously would boost their sales, but Everybody In Love the only song they have performed on the show was at number 1 on Itunes way before they even performed

If anything they are one of the few artists that haven't had to rely on an X Factor performance

 

I hate how people say its a cheesy song before you have even heard it

Fair enough if you think that after you've listened to it.. but you can't really judge too much about the song yet by the title

I love how they avoid the flopping in America problem in interviews now.

well they're not exactly gonna boast about it are they. They still plan on trying to break America and I hope they do just so it would shut people like you up but then you'd still find something to moan about.

Oh grow up, in interviews they are now saying they aren't concentrating on America at the moment. These are the same people that self hyped they were going to break America back in April. They also are failing to mention that their album is out there on Tuesday and it will be lucky to even sell anything. Don't self hype yourselves if you can't live up to what you are saying.

If you were in their position would you not say you were trying to break America and would you say that you failed to break America at the first attempt?

But I don't think it's their fault actually, they're just doing what it takes to do to go higher, everyone has their own ways :) I wouldn't buy the album but I'm not everyone. if there's enough people who buy it, that it's probably worth it.

Mmm.. show me ONE interview where they said they'll planning to crack America? all they've said is that they're going to give it a try. They're a boyband. It's going to take longer than a solo artist to crack there, since boybands are done over there. Yes, they got backing from Z100 but have hardly done much promotion. Did you expect them to be number 1 straight away like in the UK? be realistic. I'm not saying they would've definitely cracked the US with heavier promotion but the fact that they didnt do much makes your point invalid. Maybe you should focus on Nicki Minaj, hyped to the max but doing absolutely nothing in the US, ta :)

I didn't know too much about them before the show, but I did know they existed as Marvin was previously in a group called VS managed by Simon Webbe and I used to like them.

 

I agree they wouldn't be successful without the show, but I guess thats the same for Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke etc who also tried other various methods to find a way into the music business. I was talking about how they've not had to rely on X Factor for their singles/album to do well after the show

 

Beat Again got to number 1 without a performance

Everybody In Love did have a performance, but had already got to number 1 on Itunes hours before they performed

One Shot top 10 despite the album selling 1 million +

The Club Is Alive had a performance on Britains Got Talent, but if anything that would have reduced sales with it being a whole month in advance

 

The album has also been very consistent. I expected it to sell huge amounts in the first week and then fall down the chart

All of the success of JLS is down to the X Factor so why try to act like it isn't. If they weren't on X Factor they wouldn't even have got a record deal as they are dire.
