Great performance again with a standing ovation, although I think I preferred it staged at The Palace Theatre, Manchester, the stage at The Lowry seemed too small and everything seemed a bit cramped.I was hoping they might have had the new cd on sale, I thought it was supposed to be out in July, but they didn't have any items on sale. I'm glad you enjoyed it. They'll probably have the cd out in time for Christmas.

Glad you had a good night out, Sue. I love the music.Must try to remember to buy the CD when

it becomes available.

Thunder, lightning and the grass covered in hailstones......is this really August?

Mad isn't it.

Today I have lovely sunshine :)

Shame I'm about to go to work :(

Hopefully Meg will still be having good weather when I go down next week.

We've had a cool day today. Needed a long sleeved T-shirt rather than short sleeved or sleeveless. I hope it goes back to warm for Pam. We've had 2 days of patchy rain but warm sun in between so some green is beginning to show through, which is nice.
Just in case anyone is inerested and doesn't know, the Perseid meteor shower is at it's peak tonight, so if you have clear skies after dark, nip out and check them out. Lyn and I are travelling to a slightly darker sky area and I'm attempting to photograph some, but as always seems to be the case, the weather's not looking good!

From midnight till dawn is supposed to be the magical time, with around 100 shooting stars per hour.

Hope the clouds clear for you, Paul, ...the moon is a tiny waxing crescent so moonlight shouldn't be a problem.

Supposed to be in the north-east, but could be anywhere.

We had some clear skies with cloud coming and going. We probably saw around 20-30 in total before the cloud came in completely. I set my camera up but when I pointed it towards Cassiopeia they'd shoot past Delphinus and vice versa :banghead: I haven't even downloaded the images yet though, so will check and let you know. I did manage to capture one from my back garden on Tuesday evening. Jupiter is the bright object on the left.

How frustrating.

So glad you got to see some even if you didn't capture them on camera.

The skies are so brightly lit around here that it's so hard to see anything.

It's similar here Meg, streetlights are a TOTAL pain <_<

I made a little animation of some of my exposures. You can see around 10 satelites crossing in total and the meteor at the end. Not great quality, but interesting :)

Thanks for the animation, Paul. I enjoyed watching that. Saw nothing here, just clouds.

During the meteor shower we just stood and watched and you could only see the very slightest streaks now and again
The sun shone all day today!!The first time since the beginning of July and we still have the hosepipe ban! Sue
