Lovely pics Pam. Looks like you're having a great time over there - and good weather for November.

Isn't that glorious - and Stuart with you as well. Looks and sounds great - just what you need

Great photos Pam, you really are having a wonderful time. Enjoy!

Meg, you've certainly chosen a good time to have the kitchen wall knocked out - it's freezing here!

It is quite cold but a beautiful, sunny day. Cold but crisp and lovely to see.
Fantastic scenery and wildlife over there  Gotta put it on the lifetime list for a visit :)

Have a great time, spamfritter.

I'd love to visit B.C. sometime. I really like what I've seen of Canada so far.

My brother's always telling me I should go but, when I could have done, I couldn't afford to.

We now have a huge box in the kitchen. The shower, wc and wash basin will sit in that. It'll have a sliding door and bars by the wc and a seat and bars by the shower. Mum is finding it hard to wait but the things aren't in yet, the side door and windows haven't been bricked in and the plumbing hasn't been done - apart from that and the flooring and decoration, it's almost finished. She has to go in twice a day to make sure it's going ahead. If it's fine tomorrow, they'll stop and do outside work. It'll be worth her wait though.
So glad your mum's pleased with the work. It will make things so much easier for her once it's finished. Sue

She wants it NOW. i can understand that. I'd hate not having a bath or shower. The window by the toilet is in but not the one by her shower. All the brick work is done. Now she has a weekend of it not progressing.
It must seem to be taking forever to her, I know how I felt when we were having our bathroom done and I was only without a bath and shower for a few days. You'll have to have a grand opening when it's finished. ;) Sue

We're thinking of putting bars up over the door - then we'll REALLY know where she is.

Not only is daughter facing redundancy in January, but son, who is in the process of buying a house and getting married next year, has just announced that he too may be facing redundancy in April! He works in PR for a housing organisation which looks after an area of local council housing and of course, they are funded by the local authority, who have had their funding reduced from the government, so it's a knock on effect. What a worrying time for both of them - at least being unemployed, I don't have to worry about redundancy. Have they been in their current jobs long enough to get a redundancy payment? Not that it'd be enough to make it feel better.

Mark has only worked there for a couple of years. He applied for this job when the paper he worked for were making lots of people redundant. At the time it seemed a safer option, but now nothing is safe anymore.

Paula has worked for the authority for several years. There will be 8 jobs left at the end for them all to reapply for, but if you are pregnant, or on maternity leave, even if you are not the best candidate, your job is safe because, by law, you can't be made redundant, so that reduces the amount of jobs available to 4!!
