April 4, 201015 yr my comments Ghosty; 05-01 Hera Björk ~ Je Ne Sais Quoi ~ 9 [2-1-1-4-8-10-11-5-1] Your favourite ESC 2010 entry then? You should just move to Iceland :heehee: 20-08 Feminnem ~ Lako Je Sve ~ 2 [20-8] I can see this bouncing up for me again next week. Much better than Call Me 37-14 Lena Meyer-Landrut ~ Satellite ~ 2 [37-14] Keep on climbing!!! So catchy, it's my new 'driving to work anthem' I find myself tapping along to it on the steering wheel! 29-17 Niamh Kavanagh ~ It's For You ~ 3 [45-29-17] This is so gorgeous, so much better than My Heart Is Yours for me now **-43 Inna ~ Hot ~ 1 [43] Thought this might do better for you! It's really good but not amazing for me **-48 Tiesto feat. Nelly Furtado ~ Who Wants To Be Alone ~ 1 [48] This is ok, I've heard better from both artists though...

Thanks for posting :D 01 - I know! I love Iceland as a country too. Their Eurovision entries over the last decade or so have nearly always been great. 2001 and 2004 aside  . 08 - I think I agree. Call Me is a fun tune though :D 14 - It could easily be a hit here I think. 17 - I agree, My Heart Is Yours is very over-dramatic, whereas It's For You is more reserved. 43 - Well it failed to chart with me last year, and the fact Napster was charging 99p for it seriously pissed me off. So yeah, it was never going to go very high  48 - Very true.

I agree, but it was just utterly random as a Bosnian entry...sounded like the sort of thing that would come 7th in an MF semi  14. Would be nice if it won the contest and 'did a Fairytale' in the charts, or is that too much to ask :drama: 43. Oh right  I was going to buy her album but apparently it's the same song over and over again so I might not bother...

She seems to sort to have a dull album

She seems to sort to have a dull album  1. Definitely! Anywhere north of Scotland generally looks incredibly mythical to me - like a different world almost 8. Oh really  my all time favourite backing singers were Ireland 2006 with Brian Kennedy which included Una from The Saturdays and a small man that looked like an aging jockey or something :heehee: France 2008's backing vocalists were inspired too with their beards and glasses! 14. I know :( Fairytale was a complete one off - a winner that's transcended into UK popular culture :o 43. Yeah, dance albums are always hit or miss - it seems that this is a likely miss, and the cheapest import I can find is £20 so I don't think I'll bother. AATW will probably get round to releasing it in 2012 so I might buy it then :kink:
April 4, 201015 yr Hi Martin :D Here's some comments on several songs in your chart: 05-01 Hera Björk ~ Je Ne Sais Quoi ~ 9 [2-1-1-4-8-10-11-5-1] Back to no. 1? ^_^ I wonder just how well this 90s dance flavoured track will fare in Eurovision. I can't see the Eastern European countries giving these uptempo entries many points. They tend to favour the ballads, or at least it seems like they do. 01-02 Anna Bergendahl ~ This Is My Life ~ 5 [20-23-6-1-2] 02-03 Timoteij ~ Kom ~ 5 [1-2-2-2-3] Personally, I prefer 'Kom' but I think any Eurovision entry in 2010 that features someone playing the violin is copping out in a "Alexander Rybak" style. It worked in 2009. Countries need to move on. 03-11 Lady GaGa feat. Beyoncé ~ Telephone ~ 3 [10-3-11] 37-14 Lena Meyer-Landrut ~ Satellite ~ 2 [37-14] 'Satellite' has become one of my fave tracks to emerge for this years ESC2010. I hope Germany do well with this track. A great track, not cheesey but still very much contemporary. 15-16 Chanée & N'evergreen ~ In A Moment Like This ~ 8 [2-4-10-17-20-19-15-16] I really don't know why but the more I hear this, the more I think it's alright. First time I heard this on YouTube I thought it was terrible. 29-17 Niamh Kavanagh ~ It's For You ~ 3 [45-29-17] 14-18 Sugababes ~ Wear My Kiss ~ 6 [13-14-9-15-14-18] 31-32 Cheryl Cole ~ Parachute ~ 3 [43-31-32] 38-37 Florence + The Machine ~ Dog Days Are Over/Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) ~ 2 [38-37] 32-42 Marina & The Diamonds ~ Hollywood ~ 9 [1-3-3-6-16-22-26-32-42] **-43 Inna ~ Hot ~ 1 [43] 59-47 Jessy Matador ~ Allez! Ola! Olé! ~ 2 [59-47] Whilst the German entry is a great contemporary song, this is "fromage frais" in comparison. Yet it's another of my fave entries into this years ESC2010. A bit like the Danish entry, it appeals to me but I really don't know why. 46-50 Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders ~ Life Looks Better In Spring ~ 3 [48-46-50] **-59 H.I.M. ~ Scared To Death ~ 1 [59]

And Lofoten in Norway looks really nice too! 08 - Austria 2003 are my faves  and Iceland seem to have a little clique of singers on rotation. Regina from Euroband was on stage in 2003 and 2005, Fredrik was there last year and Hera was there in 2008 and 2009 also  . 14 - It was bizarre to see it do so well! But it was understandable, load of my friends liked it! 43 - They probably will! Most dance albums are misses unfortunately, but you do get the odd brilliant one. Lasgo's first two albums were amazing as were the first and third Cascada albums!

Oh yes, how could I forget - they were hilarious  oh yeah I noticed Frederik and Hera last year! I guess there are only 50-100 music artists in the whole country though so overlap is inevitable :kink: 14. I always had it down as a certain winner, but less so a UK top ten hit  People are still aware of it/like it now, it's often floating around the iTunes top 300 which is unheard of for a Eurovision song! 43. I loved all three Cascada albums although there were some questionable covers on the second one (Sk8er Boi?). ATB's debut is my favourite dance album of all time  Alice Deejay's was pretty close to perfection as well.

I hope Hera will do well, but I'm expecting about 15th place. 03 - Violins really were "in" last year  . 4 of the top 6 had a string instrument present on stage  14 - It's one of the few entries this year that I think could cross over to the UK charts. Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belgium, Sweden and an English version of Croatia are the others with hit potential here I reckon. 16 - It had a good impact on me from the off really. Sounds very much like Sting mixed with ABBA  47 - Funnily enough when I heard it I thought you'd love it. Seems like such a Hitstastic kind of Europoppy song :D

I wonder who'll enter next year. Selma again? 14 - I know! and the whole audience at YCNY knew the words to it  Just imagine Marija trying to get people to sing a long to Molitva  43 - Some of the covers on that second album were really bizarre! I found the whole thing a bit boring though, which was proven when I charted an album track instead of the second single by accident  . I have the Alice Deejay album, must listen to it again. Never heard the ATB album, might see if I can find it online. Candee Jay and Milk Inc's UK album are the ones I want but can never find going cheap :(

Agreed, oh yes I remember that mistake you made  I like all three albums about the same amount actually for different reasons, maybe the first a bit more. I have all of those albums, I used to love the UK Milk Inc album, I know it was basically a greatest hits which is why the quality was so good  They are one of I think only 3 acts to have ever had the entire top 3 of my chart one week, the others being Delta Goodrem and Girls Aloud.
April 5, 201015 yr Thanks for posting :D 01 - Eastern Europe does tend to prefer ballads or folk entries yeah. Seems like such a Hitstastic kind of Europoppy song :D 1. It really does depend on how the semi finals go. There could be shock exits early on that nobody expected but I do hope Azerbaijan triumph. ^_^ It's alright for Germany as they automatically qualify. 3. I didn't really notice that. Alexander Rybak's use of the violin was the most prominent on the night - that was his gimmick. I still think overall the entries in 2009 were stronger but there's still time for this years bunch to make more of an impact on me (and I'm sure that will happen especially come Eurovision night). 14. Seeing 'Satellite' become a UK hit would be very impressive. However, like I posted in GD's chart thread the track reminds me of 'Jungle Drum' only with a slower tempo and that song bombed in the UK. To be honest, I didn't even realise it had been given a UK release. 16. I never thought of it like that. What an unusual musical collaboration that would've been. 47. "such a Hitstastic kind of Europoppy song"? :o My tastes in music have been typecast!!! :drama:
