I noticed 'Telephone' is currently no. 1 in your chart. Holding at no. 3 for three weeks is actually impressive when it comes to my chart. Obviously three weeks at no. 1 is better but I don't think this is quite as good as 'Bad Romance', 'Poker Face', 'Just Dance' and 'Paparazzi' which were all no. 1 hits for me in 2009.

Whilst the UK are enjoying 'Hot', a track that was in my chart only two months ago, I've already moved onto follow up 'Amazing'. Personally, I much prefer this track and no doubt this will be the bigger single. I've not even started to think about my next chart but I'm sure this will continue climbing.

One of the most successful singles in Europe at the moment. If any song is guaranteed to climb next week it's this. I nearly kept this in my Pre-Release chart for another week but decided to promote the song to my main chart now. 'Alors On Danse' is one to watch. ;)

It's alright - certainly good enough to just scrape into my top 40 but this is one those low entries that's bound to drop out of my chart next week. The type of song that's good for about 3 days before it loses its appeal.

Sadly not. Like I just posted in reply to Lukas, 'Telephone' is a great track but it doesn't quite have that something that gave Lady GaGa four no. 1 singles in my chart last year. That said, even though it looks like 'Telephone' is going to peak at #3 I can still see this track hanging around for a while to come.

I went on Bablefish because I was wondering what the lyrics would translate into English. The lyrical concept of the song is very interesting comparing one bad thing with one good thing. Obviously those who don't understand French won't understand what the song is all about. I think it's very clever actually. I do agree though, an English version would take away from what makes this track as it is work so well. Let's just hope Lumidee doesn't cash in on this and score an undeserved UK hit with her off pitch vocal talents. ** shudders **

I'm still surprised at how popular this song is. Mind you, I was surprised Scouting For Girls managed to go top 10 with 'Elvis Ain't Dead'. Their biggest hit for me was 'It's Not About You' which peaked at no. 18 the first it was released in June 2007.

Really? Are you including 'I Gotta Feeling' in that statement? :o 'IGF' is Black Eyed Peas best ever single spending four weeks at no. 1 for me in July/August 2009. 'Meet Me Halfway' was also a great track. I prefer those two songs to 'Rock That Body'. At least it wasn't 'Imma Be'. Had that been released in the UK, it would've been lucky to make my top 30.

Scouting For Girls aren't exactly one of my fave bands of all time - far from it. 'TAALS' is alright but is it really worthy of hitting no. 1 in the UK? People will look back to 2010 in five years from now and think "how did that get to no. 1". The problem with the UK charts now is that because they're getting more fast paced, we're seeing more new no. 1 singles. The downside is that when this happens we get a shedload of crap topping the charts. 2008 and 2009 were solid years for no. 1 singles where it only started to go sour towards the end of the year.

Oh, I must check out your chart. I don't know if other posters are charting this. I only heard this on Saturday when I was checking out the weeks new releases. 'In The Sun' is a great track. Such a simple sounding track but yet very effective. The video is a bit "Glee/High School Musical" but apart from that, I really like this track.

:lol: 'This Ain't A Love Song' isn't that bad. It's just not brilliant which is why seeing it no. 1 in the UK is a bit baffling. It's not even a signature tune - that will always be 'She's So Lovely'. Then again many artists over the years have had UK no. 1 singles with one their lesser popular tracks. A brilliant example of this is The Jacksons who hit no. 1 with 'Show You The Way To Go' in 1977 when it's hardly regarded as a classic compared to tracks like 'I Want You Back', ABC' and 'Blame It On The Boogie' - all of which never hit no. 1 in the UK but are far more popular.

'O.N.E.' is excellent and only beaten by Plan B which I personally like that little bit more. Yeasayer made no. 14 in my chart with 'Ambling Amp' a couple of months back. I saw the video to 'O.N.E.' on MTV2 and was hooked the first time I heard this. Like you say, it's a great track. A shame that the song didn't do anything in the UK charts this week.

'Halcyon' is a great track alongside 'Doubt' which peaked at #5 for me. Whether their third single will be of equal quality is left to be seen. I've read on here that the album isn't much cop apart from the first two singles.

'Empire State Of Mind' was great when the song was first released. Seeing the song climb to no. 2 on downloads proved just how popular the song. It's just that it's become the new "I Gotta Feeling" and is refusing the leave the top 75. Can't really complain, it's popular and the fact it's still selling justifies this. Maybe by the end of 2010 it'll have sold 500k.

 

'Doesn't Mean Anything' was alright - got to no. 4 in my chart but it's not Alicia Keys at her best, not by a long shot. Even 'No One' peaked higher for me (no. 2) but 'TSWABH' and 'Fallin' are by far my fave Alicia tracks.
