April 6, 201015 yr Author I bought all the album up until butterfly, butterfly was a huge disapointment for me and her singles went downhill for me aswell, the greatest hits was the last mariah album i bought, her first album releases were great and music box i still enjoy alot.
April 6, 201015 yr Oh man, Mariah is one artist where my opinion changes on a monthly basis when it comes to my favourite album. "Butterfly" is probably my favourite, closely followed by "Daydream" & "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel". Her debut is incredibly strong, though.
July 11, 201015 yr Why? It's sensational from start to end! Best R&B album of all time. Yeah, it's not surprising considering it's the record that re-launched her career. Everyone, and I mean everyone thought that her career was DEAD prior to the release of "Emancipation".
July 11, 201015 yr I can't even think of another album which saved a career in such dramatic fashion. All I know is Jennifer Lopez needs her own Emancipation. Pronto!
July 11, 201015 yr I can't even think of another album which saved a career in such dramatic fashion. All I know is Jennifer Lopez needs her own Emancipation. Pronto! Yeah, it's a "once in a career" kind of turnaround. Before "Emancipation", she was pretty much considered a joke. Everything seemed to fall into place before it's release. It is a really strong, cohesive album that - in my opinion - will remain timeless (as opposed to one of her earlier albums i.e. "Emotions"). I'll always go back and listen to it because it's still fresh.
