Posted April 8, 201015 yr Lake meadows billericay, essex Another gig according to twitter. July 25th, tickets on sale on Monday. Thanks to Sandra. Edited April 8, 201015 yr by truly talented
April 8, 201015 yr It's lovely that Will will be doing all these summer gigs, but I do so wish he and his crew would remember there's a north to this country. And it isn't Lancashire/Yorkshire. :(
April 8, 201015 yr Author jazzle has posted that capacity for this one is 3,000, so likely to sell out quickly with being so near London. I know how you feel chrysalis. :(

April 8, 201015 yr Author I don't think travelling anywhere in England (or Scotland ) is a problem for Will, but I'm beginning to wonder if maybe he isn't a sort after act by some of the Northern venue organisers and that's why there's only one confirmed at the moment. I fear you could be right Marguerite but sadly it will do little for building his northern fanbase if the area of the country is neglected. :(
April 8, 201015 yr Author Advertised on Heart with more details. From the price looks like a Will only gig. http://www.heart.co.uk/essex/local/events/will-young-essex/
April 8, 201015 yr Will is going to be a busy boy!!! I really wish he would move further up the Country..and stop in the Midlands on the way.... Dot.x :D
July 16, 201015 yr Some info for anyone going thanks to Sandra on D...loving the bit i hightlighted  Originally Posted by sandra114 Posted on the Basildon Council website:- STATEMENT - Will Young Concert 16 July 2010 Cllr Kevin Blake, Basildon Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Arts, said: "We have had a number of enquiries regarding the event and I thought it would be helpful to clarify the situation with the Will Young performance at Lake Meadows on Sunday 25 July 2010." Where can I get my tickets? Due to the short time span remaining until the concert, tickets will not be sent through the post but will be available for collection from the Towngate Theatre Box Office from Monday - Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. They will also be available from the temporary Box Office at Lake Meadows (Radford Crescent car park entrance) on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July between noon and 8pm. Food and drink (picnics) The Will Young concert is a traditional standing pop concert format. Taking into account the number of people attending and our responsibility to ensure that our customers are able to enjoy the evening in a safe environment, we will not be allowing any food and drink to be brought onto the site for the performance. The numbers anticipated for this event are significantly larger than for the Katherine Jenkins concert last year. Because of this it is not possible to allocate a picnic area or permit picnics to be brought onto the site. However there will be a number of catering outlets available throughout the evening. Chairs, tables and sun shades As mentioned above this is a traditional standing pop concert, however there will be a restricted area marked out on the field where people can set up garden chairs if they wish. It should be noted that tables and sun shades are not permitted. Car parking Car parking is available at £5 per vehicle (payable on arrival). Access can be gained from both Radford Crescent and via Hillhouse Drive. Please note there will be no vehicle or pedestrian access to Lake Meadows via Lake Avenue.
July 20, 201015 yr Thanks SWF and Sandra While googling i noticed that KJ tickets went on sale oct 2008 but the concert was not until july 2009 and yet they still did not sell the tickets they hoped for. [Will's went on sale 6 months later than hers] so Will has done really well  http://www.basildonrecorder.co.uk/news/ech..._concert_nears/
July 20, 201015 yr More Likely is the fact they realize the money to be had from food on sale there!...still loving that the huge crowd keeps being mentioned..i wonder how many he's pulled for this!.. Young picnic ban over safety concerns BASILDON Council has responded to criticism over its decision to ban picnics from Sunday’s Will Young concert at Lake Meadows. Some fans have posted messages on the pop star’s official website to complain about it. However, a restricted area for chairs only, which ticketholders can take along if they wish, will be allowed at the Billericay event. Sun shades and tables will not be permitted. Kevin Blake, councillor responsible for leisure and open spaces, said: “Taking into account the number of people attending and our responsibility to ensure our customers are able to enjoy the evening in a safe environment, we will not be allowing any food and drink onto the site. “The numbers anticipated for this event are significantly higher than for the Katherine Jenkins concert last year. “Because of this, it is not possible to allocate a picnic area or permit picnics to be brought onto the site. “However, there are a number of catering outlets available throughout the evening.” Car parking is available for £5 per vehicle, payable on arrival. July 21, 201015 yr Thanks SWF. I was just saying over on D that when we went to Peterborough a few years ago it was baking hot and we had all brought our own water/drinks. We were sat in the 'holding pens' for ages before they let us in and when we got to the end they took away our drinks. The stallholder's then charged £1. for a half-litre bottle of water :arrr: When we got to the barrier I noticed dustbins lined with black bags and they were filled with water that the security were handing out to anyone who needed, or even wanted, it after it had been sat out in the sun and dust.. Bloody rip off. Editing to add - they had better have loads of concessions if they are expecting 7,000 and we aren't allowed to bring our food and drink in - or there could be a riot. July 26, 201015 yr Here you go: :D Hi ya. Coathangered this morning. :w00t: Fantastic gig. Full blown set - he came on around 8.15 and finished at around 10 because of the curfew - and encore - beautiful. Awesome vocals - as always  Not a lot of chat as he had a lot of songs to do - 15 I think. He was made up - such a happy happy bunny. Couldn't stop grinning. Lots of calls of "We love you" some from men. Fabulous fabulous evening - everyone singing along right from the start. Holding out his mic so we could sing back and one time left us to carry on singing  He blew his tummy in and out and said "Only people with strong stomach muscles can do this" and his diaphram bellowed in and out - poser  He made out that he was going to crowd surf and then said "Oh I've got a story. When I was a waiter there was a man I worked with who was organising a do and said he was going to crowd surf." Will said he wasn't very nice so he organised everyone that when he jumps stand away. He got Ash to do a drum roll and then did the actions of a surf and then bent down and slapped the stage as Ash crashed the drum. He begged for a pint of bitter and got it a bit later. My husband said someone must have brought their own because they didn't have cans of bitter in the beer tent - so he thanked the person who gave it to him. That was when he poured it out and it foamed up and he checked the glass and said "Look at the big head on that" and everyone cheered and he said we were filthy. Sophie told us a lovely story about her two sons aged 1 and 6 who she brought along with her. She said they had been playing crazy golf and her 6 year old said "Are we on holiday mummy" - aw bless. Mara mentioned that she and Will had done a track together and we were to keep an eye on her website to see what happens with it. He's done a lot of collaborations lately - the Shapeshifters mentioned he had done one with them too. Hope they all come to fruition. After he did the light show routine to Bad Dreams he mentioned his promise to take his top off and said I can't get out of this suit I'm only wearing pants underneath....BIG CHEER  He said you don't really want this do you and when we all shouted out yes he gave us a two fingered salute  So he went off and came back on wearing jeans and a black t-shirt. Don't know what the hell happened to that t-shirt. He lobbed it into the crowd right where we were standing and everyone there all tried to grab for it...... but it just disappeared - we all asked "Did you get it" and no-one had. I can only think the girl standing in front must have caught it because she was the only one not saying anything  Hey ho - almost got a souvenir. When he came back on with Rupert to do the bonus encore - which we weren't really expecting after Evergreen - he said "I'm just going to do an acoustic song to see you on your way" and sang You Don't Know and after said "Bless you I love you all have a safe journey. When he left the stage he had his head down and walked straight into the microphone stand and ended up on all fours - bless him  I'm only doing two so the fact it was such a success was great. *sigh* Looking forward to Sandringham now. Ooh just remembered. After he introduced all the band he got to Dave and stood by him and sang the first part of the Nina Simone song Feeling Good. Would love him to do the whole song it sounded beautiful - suited his voice down to the ground  “The numbers anticipated for this event are significantly higher than for the Katherine Jenkins concert last year. This was posted by one of the girls on Devoted: We spoke to a lovely security guy this morning when we were looking round to see where you get in and he reckons 7-8 thousand tonight, capacity is 8000, And from Ash - his drummer: Great gig tonight over 7000 Essex fans havin it large ;) - fantastic  Lot of love for Mr Young last night  Edited July 26, 201015 yr by munchkin
