October 10, 200915 yr Well she has said before that she's a big fan of the show but then I can't imagine Disney being very happy about her appearing in the movie. It'll be interesting to watch if it does happen.
October 10, 200915 yr This should unfortunately be in the Cinema and Movie Discussion. Can the Pop Mods please move.. And its already been confirmed.
October 10, 200915 yr I agree with Joao... This is definitely more a "film" discussion than a Pop music one...
October 10, 200915 yr Moving to film then...... I hope to god this doesnt happen. Cant stand the girl.
October 10, 200915 yr The new Kill Bill is about Nikki (Vernita Green's daughter) getting her revenge on the Bride 10 years later. I can't wait. Volume 1 is my favourite film ever. However it should be called ''Kill the Bride'' or ''Kill Beatrix'' (ok that sounds $h!t) but not Kill Kill.
November 14, 200915 yr Despite Saw VI getting trounced at the box office, Lionsgate has confirmed that the horror series will continue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns said at the Media and Money conference in New York on Thursday that Saw VII will go ahead. "As long as we make money on it we'll keep doing this," the studio exec declared. In related news, Shock Till You Drop reports that Lionsgate and Twister Pictures have set a October 22, 2010 release date for Saw VII, which will also be the first installment in the series made for 3-D. Returning for VII are screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and director David Hackl, as well as stars Costas Mandylor and (presumably) Tobin Bell. With an unofficial release date of August 13, 2010, a sequel to Platinum Dunes' remake of Friday the 13th is currently awaiting a firm greenlight. That isn't exactly new news as producer Brad Fuller has publically said as much in the wake of the film's modestly successful release, but rumors about the fate of Jason Voorhees in the horror sequel – as well as potential directors – are beginning to circulate. According to film site Pajiba, director Marcus Nispel, who is committed to directing Conan, may be replaced by newcommer Richard Wardlow, formerly the visual FX supervisor on Drag Me to Hell and X-Men. But most interesting, perhaps, are the rumors that this Friday the 13th may just be marketed as Jason's last. "Damian Shannon and Mark Swift – who wrote the reboot and are also penning the sequel – have been instructed to kill off Jason and end the franchise," writes Pajiba. While there's little information to back up the rumor, if true, this would hardly be the first time that filmmakers intended to kill off the mask-wearing brute. Friday the 13th Part 4 and Jason Goes to Hell were both intended to be the final chapters in the ongoing series, but considering that the potential sequel would be the 13th film in the franchise, this would make a fitting moment for the killer to take a bow. That said, an unstoppable killing machine can't be kept away from movie screens for long, so even if Voorhees were to meet his end in the summer of 2010, we wouldn't bet on that being his last appearance on screen. Sadly, attempts to confirm or deny this rumor have proven unsuccessful, but check back with IGN Movies for more info as it becomes available. Michael Caine doesn't sound that enthusiastic about the future of the Batman franchise. In an interview with British magazine Shortlist, the actor -- who played Butler Alfred in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight -- said: "As for the future... if they ever make another Batman I will be in, I will be the butler..." He went on: "But I don't know if they are ever going to make another Batman. If they do it won't be for quite a while." Sounds like bad news for fans of the Caped Crusader then, with Batman 3 seemingly a long way off. Let us know your thoughts below. Sad times.
November 15, 200915 yr So, they want to do a "darker" vision or whatever.... Then, basically it'll just be "Blade" with a chick or a bit of a rip-off of the Japanese Manga film "Blood - the last Vampire", which WAS basically a much darker versh of "Buffy" set in a post-WW2 school in Tokyo.... Hmmmm, this change to a "darker vision" couldn't have anything to do with the fact that a live-action version of "Blood.." is due out in cinemas next month could it.....? Why dont they follow on the franchise and base it on Whedon's Buffy comic....? I hear they're trying to do an animated series to follow the comics. There was a trailer for it on a Bones DVD for some reason apparently  Sorry know this psot was made eons ago but meh, I'm against this 'darker' version. Seems to be a cash in on all the vampire madness atm. Murdering an iconic character and fictional universe is death worthy.
March 28, 201015 yr US, March 27, 2010 - An Oscar-winning hottie is reportedly being eyed to star in Maleficent, director Tim Burton and Disney's Wicked-style take on the Sleeping Beauty villainess. The Los Angeles Times reports that Angelina Jolie "is keen on the film and would like to sign on to play the titular villain." Linda Woolverton, who scripted Alice in Wonderland for Burton, will write the film, which revisits the tale of Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of the sinister green-skinned fairy. While there's no deal in place for either Burton or Jolie, the actress has in recent weeks taken an active interest in the project, although the paper points out that her involvement may be conditional upon Burton's. The Times also points out that Jolie has no projects lined up after she wraps The Tourist with Johnny Depp. Burton also hasn't committed to his next project yet. Hmmmm.
April 10, 201015 yr Has confirmed the role of Penelope Cruz in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The 35-year-old actress in the sequel Sutorenjataizu has been cast as a black girl. "She is the daughter of a bad man. She brings a lot of humor in it. And the fact that she fights it," Jerry Bruckheimer producer, MTV said. "The little romance between characters played by Penelope and the Captain Jack." Pirates of the Caribbean: Sutorenjataizu will be released on May 20, 2011.
April 10, 201015 yr The actor Paul Walker reports that he will be back for a fourth film fast and furious. And saw a large piece of the film, who played Brian O'Connor in three of these four films in the election, and make sure that the new film "close out" the election, but the success of the movie opening week for a breathtaking, and pushed him and the producers to change gear and think again. The film has almost doubled estimates when it opened in the United States with a whopping 72.5 million dollars (50 million pounds) for the spaces at the end of last week (03 - 05Apr09), and now Walker is keen to get behind the wheel of a franchise film races again - for a trip to South America. Appear to show a Los Angeles radio Love on Friday (10Apr09), said: "It was supposed to be this is ... There is no doubt that the way was opened in something, Vin (Diesel, co-star), and will be back, and we achieve in five and we're going to Brazil, and that's it! "I do not think that the best one (film) has been done so far, and I think we can easily come back and make the best one."
April 10, 201015 yr Disney has the title, and are supposed to calm Johnny Depp after the departure of Dick Cook, because Pirates of the Caribbean: In the strange tide is scheduled to sail. According to The Hollywood Reporter, is scheduled to be the fourth installment of Pirates to start shooting this summer in Hawaii, and Rob Marshall will take the wheel as rumored earlier. Depp is the only member of the cast and said that on the plane, and the film aims to summer 2011 release date. Unfortunately, it seems as if the Pirates 4 was about to shove aside in favor of the Lone Ranger. But it proved to be a common inactivity (or hope, depending on whether you prefer to Tonto Sparrow), and they decided to go with Captain Jack tried to volatile and instead. It is believed that he will seek fountain of youth this time around, as evidenced in the sequel to grab at the end of the world, and they optioned the novel Tim powers to give them the idea or two. Of course, it's January alone. A lot can happen between now and summer, especially to the fourth installment of the franchise, especially when the third installment were not very enjoyable. Perhaps Disney Marshall and be able to take a decision on the villain, or the budget will be rising higher than the studio likes. With all this talk of anxiety and Twilight, and young and teenage girls are still spending money on pirates in the case of sugar, even if wearing a workaround? Come March, and can we have re-Pirates of the Caribbean, which will focus on the years of Jack Sparrow in the age of adolescence, and his struggle to find his sea legs. All bets are off with these things, especially if there is a series spin-off has come just for adaptation.
May 2, 201015 yr The release date for Batman 3 has been confirmed by Warner Bros. According to Entertainment Weekly, the still untitled film will be released on July 20, 2012. Few of details are available about the planned sequel other than the fact that director Christopher Nolan and writer David Goyer will return. Nolan's more realistic take on the Batman mythos has insiders speculating that villains such as Mr Freeze, Killer Croc and Clayface will not be in the movie, though insiders are hoping The Riddler will make an appearance. The release date was announced almost two years after The Dark Knight set box office records. So far away... Better be good considering how long it would have been since TDK....
May 3, 201015 yr it's only one year longer than between Batman Begins and TDK, tbh I reckon it will be really good, but it wont be as good as it will be hyped up to be, like it will be hyped to shreds and that would ruin it, it wont be better than TDK though. by far. but will be better than Batman Begins.
May 3, 201015 yr ugh i hope catwoman isnt, what a $h!t character, and it best be a decent villian, hopefully The Riddler, wouldnt mind seeing Deadshot or Zsasz in underlying storylines but not the main villian.
May 4, 201015 yr Isnt The Riddler like the most likely villian for the next film? Or is that just a rumour I heard?
June 4, 201015 yr It's been almost 20 years since James Cameron has made a sequel to one of his original works. The last time he did so, it was called Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and we all know how that turned out. Now, seeing as how Cameron only makes films that gross in the billions, it looks like his next sequel may very well be The Abyss 2, er, Avatar 2. While attending the All Things Digital conference this week, The Hollywood Reporter says that the Oscar-winner hopes his next film will be released in three to four years, and it could be the return to Pandora that News Corp. exces have discussed with the director since Avatar broke box office records. While not exactly saying that Avatar 2: Piles of Na'vi Bucks will definitely be his next film, he did say that the project will be "some other big film" that uses 3D. He also plans to use his next film as means to push 3D tech to new levels, much like he did with his billion-dollar grossing Avatar. So yes, in three to four years, Cameron will only let you watch his movie if you let him download them directly to your brain. In IMAX. While deep-sea diving in an ocean he invented. On a scale from 1 to 10, how excited are you for James Cameron's next film being an Avatar squeakquel? Sound off in the comments, IGN-ers.
June 4, 201015 yr He's talked about the sequel for a while now, so this is no big shock. I enjoyed Avatar (I've seen it in both 2D and 3D), but not as much as the intense this-is-a-game-changing movie crowd. I still don't buy 3D, and I don't believe any film needs it. I much prefer strong writing, directing and acting. It also frustrates me when critics critise blockbuster films for not using it (see Empire's review of Prince of Persia).
June 12, 201015 yr Whatever Paramount decides to do with their cash cow Transformers franchise, one thing is for sure: Michael Bay's third film will be an end to the story he set out to tell. "This one really builds to a final crescendo," Bay told USA Today. "It's not three multiple endings... As a trilogy, it really ends. [The franchise]could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending." The director also revealed who the villain is. Ready? It's Shockwave, the one-eyed overseer of Cybertron whose toy turned into a wicked purple laser canon thing. As for the plot? "The new film features Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime." (It's better than saving the world with a gym sock full of Matrix glitter while racist robots look on...) Through this story, a mystery of sorts emerges, as TF3 centers around the "space race between Russia and the U.S.", while implying that the Transformers played a hidden role in mankind's first exploration of the galaxy. Does that mean that we might get to see Astrotrain in live-action form? USA Today is quick to point out that in the last two films, Optimus, Megatron and Sam have all died and pulled a Lazarus act. But producer di Bonaventura assures audiences that dead is dead this time around. And fanboys, try not to faint - but yes, despite initial reluctance on Bay's part, Transformers 3D is happening. Optimus Prime and his fellow Autobots will roll out in 3D July 1, 2011.
