Posted April 10, 201015 yr The latest microsoft update for service pack 2 downloads something called Vista Antimalaware that then tells you there are serious threats to your computer and that you need to download and pay for an Vista anti-spyware scan. DO NOT DO THIS. Try to do a restore to a previous point before the update was downloaded Edited April 11, 201015 yr by Nina
April 11, 201015 yr Was i a genuine service pack? It's worrying either way but worse if it is. Oh and, thanks Nina.
April 11, 201015 yr Author I'm not sure how it was downloaded but the constant messages it sends can feel scary and looks like a genuine windows message. But don't panic. Restore the computer to a previous day and then run your anti virus to pick up any malaware it has dumped in the system. Then it should be fine. I will do one more scan on Claire's computer to make sure it is clean.
April 11, 201015 yr Eeeek, this is why I moved onto mac... my poor little Acer laptop just couldn't handle all of the malware it became ridded with as it was slow anyway so a virus scan took atleast a day :( Hope everyone's pc's are ok!
