Here's the new Danish band with an incredible self-titled debut that is about to be released there.

Epic innit?!

Vi to er smeltet sammen has been a favourite of mine pretty much since it was released, quite surprised nobody else has commented on how great it is.

Also worth noting is that the album versin (

) is slightly better than the video version, only difference is that the ending drags on a bit, but a definite improvement.

Never really got that much into them myself I must admit. Vi To Et Smeltet Sammen is a decent song.

True, but language never prevented Kent and the Icelandic/Faroe bands from becoming popular a bit more widely. (Nor the norwegian black metal bands.)

Stoffer og Maskinen is probably one of my favorite albums. Their most recent song Kærestebrevet is amazing, too!

Does anybody know if there's a new album out soon? Waaaant!

Raped it in the first week so hopefully the video will resparkle my love.

I damn hope the album is out soon. Their debut was beyond incredible.

HELL YEAH sophomore album is getting released on 28 January next year! BEYOND excited.

'Barndommens Gade' (Anne Linnet cover), 'Byens Tage' and 'Kærestebrevet' all seem to be included in it btw.

Kærestebrevet is still amazing. Not really fond of the other two but let's hope this album is as amazing as the first one!
Just revived my love for this band. Lyrics are really over the top emotional, lots and lots of loneliness, unrequited love and just amourous vibes, but exactly the overdoing of it fits well with the sound in general, starting to look forward to the next album.

Yeah did that a few weeks ago. Their debut is one of my favourite albums of all-time. So good. I'm feeling like this one isn't going to top the debut though. Oh well there's hoping the singles aren't actually the strongest songs on the album (which wasn't the case for 'Stoffer & Maskinen' unfortunately for the new record).

Either way, it's nice to see them changing the direction a bit.

Not impressed on first listen, apparently they have decided to go for a simpler and more poppy sound this time around, which would be quite a shame.

Also, the album is gonna be out february 4th now and not in january :)

Looks like we already heard 2 new songs + Barndommens Gade + acoustic version of Tænkte Ikke På Livet + a demo of Hverken Mand eller Kvinde so less and less brand new songs to hear come February 4

Quite looking forward to this. Doesn't sound like it will be as dark as their debut, but I'll get over it. I NEED a good quality mp3 of Kærestebrevet. <3

Holy fuck. I just won this album via this Facebook thing. And I'll probably be already listening to it TODAY (they'll give the link to the stream). omg I never win anything ever.

Wow, I had my third listen and the album is truly fantastic. A bit different to the debut but surely they can't have the exact same sound every album, no matter how amazing that sound is! Hverken Mand Eller Kvinde, Tiger & Gazelle and the two singles are so far the highlights.

I am thinking of actually going to their concert to either Moscow or St. Petersburg in March.

They cut it a bit. Posting the whole thing here. :D

I’ve been waiting for this to happen for more than a year now. Finally the new Stoffer & Maskinen album titled ‘Astronaut’ is out (almost!). After multiple listens I gave to this record, it feels like by means of this album the band is trying to say they did try to discover new sounds and style (and thus naming the album ‘Astronaut’). And not just stay on the same spot, which they settled in so well after the release of ‘Stoffer & Maskinen’ in 2010. Sometimes music artists are so content with the success their previous records had that they cannot see past it to continue exploring genres and trends. This is definitely not the case with Christoffer and Andreas.

> The difference between ‘Astronaut’ and ‘Stoffer & Maskinen’ is noticed instantly. From hyptonising fierceness of ‘Silhuet’ to pop wonder that is ‘Byens Tage’, from guitar-heavy ‘Flader Mod Flader’ to unbelievably catchy ‘Hånd I Hånd’, from endlessly beautiful ‘Indeni’ to anthemic ‘Kærestebrevet’. Of course it doesn’t apply to every song. ‘Hverken Mand eller Kvinde’ could easily be on ‘Stoffer & Maskinen’ as it has the same dramatic signature the debut album is known the most for. I’m glad transition to something new wasn’t so severe and we still get to hear parts of Stoffer & Maskinen circa 2010, namely the last 1.5 minutes of ‘Og I Hans Øjne...’ or, as I already said, ‘Hverken Mand Eller Kvinde’.

> The synths make the new album have a hint of retro sound with a modern take on it (‘Tiger & Gazelle’ serving as the best example – the chorus melody is just beyond stunning) in some places. It definitely brings more ‘colour’ to the sound.

> So even though I’d personally very much like to see ‘Astronaut’ being more aggressive, dramatic, fierce and edgy, I know that it’s not the right approach and so much more can be gained from trying new things as opposed to using the same old lazy ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!’ excuse. All in all, in my opinion, changing of direction worked extremely well as I cannot stop playing the album over and over for days now.

> (Now to manage to get to the guys’ Moscow concert in March!)
