In yet more live date announcements for Will, we’re pleased to confirm that he will play at The Works, Ebbw Vale on 8th August

 

A special presale link will be available in the usual place – the Members Only Area of the Will Young official forum from tomorrow at 9am.

 

General sale tickets will then follow on Friday, that's 16th April at 9am.

In an incredible coup for the area, pop idol Will Young is coming to Ebbw Vale and will be performing the night after the closing of the National Eisteddfod.

 

Fans in Blaenau Gwent will get the chance to jump the queue for tickets to see the most successful British male pop-star of the millennium at the Pink Pavilion, Ebbw Vale on August 8, as part of The Valleys Heart and Soul campaign.

 

Tickets go on sale locally only on Thursday, April 15 – a day before general release – at The Metropole, Abertillery and Beaufort Theatre, Ebbw Vale and demand to see one of the UK’s most popular performers is expected to be high, so perhaps you’d better Leave Right Now to get in line.

 

Blaenau Gwent council leader Des Hillman said he was delighted to be bringing such a well respected pop star to the area.

 

“People in Blaenau Gwent will give Will Young a fantastic reception when he gives a concert in the National Eisteddfod marquee at The Works this summer,” he said.

 

“The Council’s Leisure Services team has worked with the National Eisteddfod and the Heads of the Valleys Programme to make this event a highlight of our big 2010 cultural programme.

 

“What a way to celebrate the finale of the 2010 Blaenau Gwent and Heads of the Valleys Eisteddfod. We expect the phone lines will be red hot when advance tickets go on sale.”

 

Deputy Minister for Housing and Regeneration, Jocelyn Davies said: “This concert is a major coup for the area and will follow a fantastic week of cultural and musical activity from Wales' biggest festival.

 

“Both the Eisteddfod and Will Young's performance will help further raise the profile of Ebbw Vale and attract new audiences and visitors to The Valleys.

 

Tickets to see Will Young are available for the people of Blaenau Gwent from Thursday, April 15 at 9am at The Met and Beaufort Theatre for £20 plus a £2 booking fee, cash only. SINGER Will Young, pictured, is coming to the Valleys this summer.

 

The Pop Idol star will perform in the Pink Pavilion on August 8, the night after the close of the National Eisteddfod, as part of The Valleys - Heart and Soul campaign.

 

Tickets for the gig at the site of this year's National Eisteddfod at The Works, Ebbw Vale, will go on sale this Friday (April 16).

 

The concert has been organised by the National Assembly's Major Events Unit, Blaenau Gwent Council and The Valleys - Heart and Soul of Wales campaign.

 

The campaign is a three-year scheme led by organisations from the Western Valleys, Heads of the Valleys and The Valleys Partnership.

 

The aim is to change perceptions of The Valleys, attract more tourists and bring long-term economic benefits to the area.

Thanks for those TT - more than his festival 2004 tour isn't it - that's 13 at the last count - and I have a feeling he's not finished yet. He's still down as a strong rumour for Glasto which is in June - before he starts his other gigs.

I continually live in hope TT. :lol: Although I must admit to be feeling a bit down this morning as I realise that even if he got as far as Newcastle I still wouldn't be able to get to see him. What I really want is for him to do a nice "up-close and personal" at the Playhouse - I can just about get there at the moment!! :rolleyes: It would make a change from these four walls!
