Hello and welcome to the national thread of one of BJSCXXVII's new countries :D I know that XXVI is currently going on but I thought I'd get stuck in early and preview some tracks I was considering already, to get a bit of feedback. My musical taste is generally a bit heavy/male-orientated for most of BJ's taste but I've picked out some songs that I love and will hopefully strike a balance between different tastes. Now, if the video embedding works:

Song 1:

Paramore - We Are Broken I love a bit of Paramore, and seeing how well their latest single "The Only Exception" has gone down, I thought I'd plump for the epic ballad from their previous album, 2007's "Riot!". I'm also thinking about both "All I Wanted" and "Misguided Ghosts" as well if you guys have heard either of them and want to voice your opinions, it's all welcome

Song 2:

30 Seconds To Mars - Hurricane Another US band of the moment, this was a track that initially featured Kanye West but his version wasn't included on the final album. I love this, it's a bit retro and thoroughly modern at the same time and is a bit more accessible than both their earlier stuff and my personal favourite "Night of the Hunter".

Song 3:

Palladium - High 5 This one was a minor 2007 hit in the UK and I always thought it deserved far better. I love it, and when I included it on my mixtape on the third ChCMedia CD swap, the reviewer (Gooddelta I think?) picked it out as one of his favourites.

Song 4:

Hockey - Too Fake A band that had a small impact over here in 2009, I always preferred this track to the charting "Song Away".

 

Song 5:

Glee Cast - It's My Life / Confessions, Pt. II A few more of you should know this one :P My absolute favourite 'Glee' track, although I'd think that a lot of people will prefer the girls' mashup over this.

 

Song 6:

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now? A blast from the past! This would be a complete gamble but how can you not love Morrissey & Marr's 6-minute epic? Possibly my favourite Smiths track, and that's saying something.

I love Paramore and I LOOOOVE 30 Seconds To Mars. Hurricane is epic (only without Kanye West, though :kink:).

 

Didn't know Palladium before but that's also really good.

Welcome :) As Tyron says, there's plenty of time to get ready. I'll have to listen to these tracks, not familiar with most of them (though How Soon Is Now would be an EPIC entry, I have a horrible feeling that the t.A.T.u version was already entered...)

Nice choices. Love Paramore, and I myself was thinking about entering a 30 Seconds to Mars song (either Vox Pouli or Alibi) but in the end I decided to go for a Korean pop theme for my first entry. I also love The Smiths 'How Soon Is Now?' (although Love Spit Love's version is my favourite :wub:) Will listen to the rest of the songs latter and rank them for you :)

If it's for BJSC 27, Paramore is ok (I love them), but not for BJSC 26 as I'm planning to enter Hayley :lol:
