I really wish Darius would stop p*ssy footing around and either confirm some dates for the tour next year or confirm he's not going ahead with the dates in the programme.

This never knowing about upcoming events until we're nearly on them is so frustrating and IMHO not good for either him or us.

I'm definitely not impressed with his new management/PR team? He still seems to be left doing it all himself.

After the Manchester fiasco, I must admit I'm not impressed with his PR people either. Sue

When you pay to get someone to do a job, you expect them to do it. Not refuse to take calls, close the section and then still do very little. I don't think that Darius' people can be blamed for this.

Darius will not confirm dates until he knows he can do them. He has never confirmed the second half of the tour beyond the fact that he will do it. When he knows his commitments he'll confirm to David Quirke and Brian Hill of Barisons and they will pass that knowledge on. I'd rather he didn't confirm until he knew he wouldn't have to cancel than tell us he was doing a certain date and finding he couldn't.

Darius to appear on Hogmanay bill

Nov 19 2010 by Donald Morton, Stirling Observer Friday

FORMER ‘Pop Idol’ star and winner of ‘Popstar to Operastar’ Darius Campbell is the latest name to join the line-up for this year’s Hogmanay party on Stirling Castle Esplanade.

He said: “I’m really thrilled to be performing at Stirling Castle. It’s a fantastic setting and it’s going to be a great night.

“It’s really important to me to be in Scotland for Hogmanay and to get to spend time with my family, who will be there on the night.”

In the last few months the former Darius Danesh has performed all over the country with his History of the Big Bands tour.

He also made a guest appearance at the Beatles 50th anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall, along with Dame Shirley Bassey, Tony Christie and Beverley Knight.

Artists appearing on Hogmanay along with Darius are Skerryvore, Madnish and the Floorstompers. Additional acts are to be announced in the coming weeks.

The evening will be hosted by Real Radio’s Ewen Cameron and will climax with the countdown to the bells, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to bring in 2011 in true style.

There is still a chance for a local performer to take to the stage. Organisers Zisys Events are running a competition to look for a local singer, singer-songwriter or band to play a support slot at the event.

Visit www.stirlinghogmanay.com for details. The closing date for entries is December 1.

Thanks prettyinpink. I'd seen a tweet last night but could only find out the company had 3 stores in Glasgow already and couldn't get any other info about a new store opening. That explains it........... refurbished Argyle Arcade store.

I watched Colin and Justin in a home show on the TV the other day and they were really losing the rag with their buyer. the poor girl wasn't getting through to them on time and had deadlines, so she had to take decisions herself about substitutes for things she couldn't get. She was "compromising their design". The builder drove away at one point because he couldn't take it either. Talk about volatile.

I'm being haunted by John Barrowman. I got in fairly late lastnight and turned on CIN and there he was in the most hideous pudsey spot jacket I've ever seen. Today I had to get the train from the next town down the line today and there he was grinning at me from a giant poster for Aladdin and later just before Harry Hill's TV's Burp there he was in a "personal" ad inviting all us STV viewers to buy tickets for Aladdin.

What is the matter with the trousers of Darius's suits? If they're bespoke, he needs to go back and get re measured. They look too tight, definitely not elegant. He looks like he's slept in those ones in that picture.

Funny baytree you said that about Ds trousers, I was thinking the same thing. As regards JB, sorry cant stand his ego. Im a big fan of Strictly come dancing and he is keen to get Bruce forsyths job, I do hope not it will stop me watching.

the trousers are a bit long arent they - he needs someone to do some hem turning up..and button sewing on, as hubby kept on about his missing cuff button during HOTBB show, that man needs a good woman to get him well turned out!LOL

on a aside, JB is way OTT, if Darius acted the way he does he would be cruxified for being full of himself - I suppose the gay tag makes it ok to be so full on  I am afraid if he ever turned up in disgiuse to suprise me he would get short shrift

That's exactly what I was thinking about the trousers, but wondered if that's the fashion now to wear them so fitted? Sue

Darius is appearing at a private function in London this Thursday evening and he has a competition to win two tickets over on his Facebook page under Dissussion. Good luck to anyone who enters.....
