Amazing that Girls Aloud managed 3 safe qualifiers, bringing their total in the final to 4/5? Boo at Take That missing out twice. :(

43 Killers - Human 103

38 Evanescence – Bring Me To Life 120

35 Eminem ft. Dido - Stan 125

28 Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. 141

26 Green Day - American Idiot 144

22 Take That - Patience 155

Criminal that these missed out :o "Stan" is without doubt the greatest rap record of the centruy but its genre means it never had a chance. "American Idiot" more than deserved a place in the final, all up to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" now I guess :(

19 Aaliyah - Try Again 158

19 Pink - Who Knew 158

17 Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? 159

17 Christina Aguilera – Beautiful 159

16 Kelly Clarkson – My Life Would Suck Without You 161

7 Nelly Furtado – Say It Right 186

Madness... don't get it with these, I appreciate that a lot of what got through (the top 3 are all very good) deserved it but most of these weren't landmark songs in the same way as some of those my top list. Bad BJ <_<

OK results, but disappointing seeing BJ vote for crap like Biology, Who Knew, Try Again and Say It Right over American Idiot, The Scientist, Stan and Human

Thank God for the Killers, MGMT and Arctic Monkeys getting through or it would be quite a dire list- but at least Britney and Sugababes didnt get through Run For Cover even making it this far is a joke <_<

Im very pleased with these reuslts for once in my life. Would have been nice if Scandalous and Round Round had done a bit better but on the whole most of the fantastic songs got through.

AS IF Outkast deserved to come last  Oh well, at least it made it this far.

Pretty good results, despite my top 2 not making it. I like all the qualifiers except 3. My Life Would Suck Without You is the only one I would say completely didn't deserve to get there.

Gwen and Christina's songs are certainly more landmark than the Kills song or Gorillaz, probably Evanescence too. I guess it depends on who you are to decide.

I'd also say "Who Knew" is P!nk's greatest song, if not for the overrated "Get The Party Started" I'd say it was one of her signature songs. I object to people passing Aaliyah off as crap as well. She's very respected in the genre. (which is one less represented in the results than indie/alternative)

"What You Waiting For?" and "Feel Good Inc." arrived within a few months of each other and were both big hits but the Gorillaz song was HUGE, far more significant than "DARE" which got them the #1 they deserved. "Human" was also far more significant than you'd think, 500k sales don't lie ;)

I'm not denying that "Feel Good Inc." was huge, perhaps it's on par with them, but I certainly wouldn't say those songs were undeserving of qualification. The two Kelly Clarkson songs, Nelly Furtado and a couple of the Girls Aloud tracks - yes!

Bringing sales into it isn't fair. I won't deny it having a huge chart run, but the sales cilmates and formats were different in 2008/9. I'd say "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr Brightside" are their classics. (both of which qualified)

I didn't get to vote in this (I was stuck overseas due to volcano causing flight home to be cancelled.) If I had Viva La Vida and the 2 Take That songs would have qualified.
