Top 3 indeed. :D I've played this track more over the last week and it's starting to become more successful in more countries now. Definitely one of Europe's most successful tracks of 2010.

I can't believe I dismissed this track completely when I found out she was a Disney artist like Miley Cyrus. 'Naturally' is a great track and after listening to the track, I soon realised why the track shot up iTunes so quickly last week. A plesantly surprising UK hit.

Oh yes, I still like watching the video when it comes on the music channels. The Jamaican vibe to the video is brilliant and I regard 'Rude Boy' as one of Rianna's best singles. It's four weeks at no. 1 in the US are also well deserved.

It's slowly working its way up my chart. I really like the simplicity of this song whilst still being very effective. Sometimes it's the simplest songs that are the best ones. Top 10 beckons for this depending on new entries next week. :D Do you also have Pre-Release chart? :lol: I only do that to keep my chart in some form. Otherwise if I just charted songs as soon as I heard them, some tracks would underperform. I like to keep my chart in order. :P

Yes, that's exactly what I thought when I first heard this. It was MTV2 where I first heard this song and it really stood out and struck a chord with me. A bit like She & Him, I really like the simplicity of the music. Proof that is doesn't have to be all about the synths/dance beats. Songs like these are brilliant in their own ways. If only UK radio supported this type of music more, I'm sure there's teenagers in the UK who would love this type of music.

Well, Scouting For Girls was never going to stick around for ages. 'TAALS' is alright - hence the track getting to no. 20 for me three weeks ago. Overall, it's just very much a "moment" song. I still don't see any redeeming features in this song and wonder why this was considered good enough to be UK no. 1, especially over Plan B 'She Said' which, imo, is excellent. Oh well, we all have our individual tastes.

 

Yes, Professor Green. :lol: I know most posters hate the song but I think it's hilariously bad - as I posted elsewhere, this song isn't being serious.

Nice to see Satellite in the pre-release chart! Don't think I've even heard the Paul Weller song...good to see Stromae still climbing :wub: Do-Wah-Doo is very good, if no Foundations. Her new album is amazing in some places and then horrible in others, extremely hit and miss :lol:

 

Lena Meyer-Landrut qualifies for my personal chart because 'Satellite' is charting in the HET30. If Safura was already charting in Europe with 'Drip Drop' that'd be in my Pre-Release Chart too. Regardless of how the song might perform in European charts, I do loosen the chart rules after Eurovision and have allowed tracks from the contest to chart over the years. 2010 is no exception.

 

I'm not sure if you'd like 'No Tears To Cry' but I think it's excellent. It's very influenced from the old Northern Soul music scene and I don't know if you like The Jam ( :wub: ) but Paul Weller and former bandmate Bruce Foxton are now on speaking terms and they both play together on several of the album tracks. My brother in law is probably the biggest The Jam/Paul Weller I know which is where my love for the music comes from.

 

Stromae is doing incredibly well for a non-English language song. It's still got a small chance of topping my chart but it really does depend on how the chart pans out over the next few weeks. It also looks like 'Alors On Danse' is starting to make new waves in some more European charts. It looks like it could be no. 1 in Holland next week. It's now also entered the Flanders (Northern Belguim) chart so could well shoot up to no. 1 there over the next couple of weeks?

 

'Do-Wah-Doo' did admittedly dip in personal popularity with me over the week. I had Kate Nash at no. 1 in my Pre-Release chart with Paul Weller no. 2 but if I had popularity bars, there would've been just 1 bar seperating the two. Since last weekend Paul Weller has easily overtaken and ran ahead.

Good stuff, I do hope Alors On Danse will make it over here somehow but I won't hold my breath :lol: Yeah I know what you mean, Do-Wah-Doo is hardly the best thing ever recorded, it gets old quickly...I think #6 is a good peak, same place it peaked in my chart - I didn't find it top 5 worthy, but certainly mid top ten!

'You Do Something To Me' was a great track. I regard The Jam as one of the best 80s groups which some excellent tracks in their back catelogue. As for Paul Weller, 'No Tears To Cry' is actually his second no. 1 in my chart following 'From The Floorboards Up' in 2005.

 

You never know, with 'Alors On Danse' becoming such a massive European hit their might be a record label that take an interest and decide to give the track a UK release.

 

'Do-Wah-Doo' probably would've gone top 5 had it been released on a quiet week. However, Kate Nash wasn't enough competition to break into my top 5. Yeasayer still edge out in front. ^_^
