Posted July 9, 200619 yr Paolo Nutini - Last request http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/atuk034cdx.JPG Hailing from Paisley, 19 year old singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini fuses together his diverse influences of David Bowie, Oasis, the Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac into a stirring and enchanting concoction. 'Last Request', his debut single, is an uplifting ballad that fits into the same category as James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' and Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day', adding a very strong, laid-back, distinctive and soulful vocal. - HMV track listing * 1. July 11, 200619 yr He sings in Scottish if you know what I mean? I really liked this when I first heard it weeks ago, I've gone off it now, I'm not too keen on his live singing but he could have been nervous.
July 13, 200619 yr I was put off when I heard he could be the new James Blunt, but I really like his voice and the song's not bad ^_^
July 14, 200619 yr I think the only thing he's got in common with James Blunt is the record label he's signed to - Paolo doesn't even like James Blunt's music - or so I read somewhere :P  - I think they have a completely different style and genre influences to their music anyway though, I like both myself, but Paolo's stuff has a real soul vibe - especially in his vocals, he's got a much groovier funky sound and I think his live performances are even better than the recorded stuff
