Amelle had food poisoning.

yeah and Siobhan had a kidney infection!

Next she'll be wanting a career in fashion. I note its Jade and not amelle doing all the talking these days which is sad as she's not really a sugababe but they're trying to make her look important i suppose in the hopes she eventually will be.

Not surprised the record company are giving them time- they don't want them to have any excuses to use this time so they can't argue when they drop them after this one. I also read not using big producers as couldn't afford big producers since im sure the budget is severely diminished now.

I love the SBs harmonies but voices and an acoustic guitar sounds so MoR i could puke. And it doesn't sound new and fresh AT ALL.

Worse idea than Sweet 7 :puke2:

Baaah, keep your hating to yourself :P

I'd say if anything she was implying she wanted them to get back to the glory days of the Angels With Dirty Faces era if anything...

I'd say the exact same thing!

not at all, i loved the Sugababes i'm just sad that band is over, but the brand continues.

and regarding getting back to AWDF level? well i'd rather be a realist accused of being a hater than delusional

The only way they can return to AWDF level or preferably, Three level, is if they give Mellypoo and Jade the heave-ho and get the two best voices in UK pop history back [Queen Keisha Buchanan of Ad-libs and Queen Mutya Buena of uber-epic vocals]

Then we'd be back in business.

Apart from the fact that after a week Heidi would most likely have been murdered :kink:

Please don't imply I'm delusional, I know there's no way on earth they can ever be successful again. I just got that's what they were aiming for from what SHE said in the article.

Or completely ignored by Mutya. It'd be like 2001 all over again :magic:

I hope this can take them international again. They haven't had a hit in the Netherlands since... well Red Dress came to #7 (About You Now only #18!!).

When they were popular here they used to be loved for their unusual style. They were one of the few popular groups that was also loved by a more alternative audience. I miss those times. I miss Heidi, Mutya and Keisha together.

I just hope this album will bring new life to them. I don't know if Amelle and Jade have enough edginess to be the new Mutya and Keisha, but I have my fingers crossed.

Sugababes 4.0 are not edgy. Neither 3.0 were, so they could never get that edginess back because...they are different people. They have their own style.

About the promotion...I don't know how their background of hits will make them easier to reach international markets again. Maybe they'll do something where About You Now was a middle-high success. I think the first single will be quite similar to it.

Leaving the background topic, I think they will want to focuse on consolidating the group again in the UK. It took 2 1/2 albums to The Saturdays to consider they were consolidated enough to try to reach other countries, so I think they won't do anything unless they match C&S sales and get at least two top10 singles. Album-wise, that would be a big improvement. It's harder to rise sales after a big flop than to start from nothing.

The thing is, I think they can get a new hit single, but I'm not so sure about the album.

What the hell have The Saturdays got to do with anything? The Sugababes first album was more successful in Germany than it was here, it was also a hit in Japan and they did promo in Aus, across Europe and Asia.

The Sugababes [unlike GA and The Sats] have actually had international success.

They don't need to concentrate on the UK market, they just need to put out an album that isn't so Generic US $h!te that it flops everywhere.

Catfights & Spotlights is an incredible album that was badly handled by the label and management. The wrong tracks were released, the cover art was too tame for the title, the videos were poor, the promotion was non-existant and for some utterly baffling reason Murder One wasn't the lead single. As Sugababes albums go, C&S was a very consistent good quality album. It flowed well, there wasn't much that could be counted as filler, there was very few bad tracks.

The girls don't need to concentrate efforts on releasing in the UK and shunning other markets. They just need to come back with a big track. A big comeback single will give strong album sales and then what do ya know it, damage to their sales has been repaired without needing to bother doing a GA/Sats

lets face it... there last album flopped aswell and they had really strong singles from it..

Infact, my fave sugababes singles ever!!

I think if this next album flops (which it more than not, will) then they will call it quits!!

Yes, it flopped. However, all three singles made the top 10, which was their first era for that to happen since 'TIMW' in 2005/6!

LOADS of big artists have had a flop album, and they get back up there with the next one, you can't really say this album will most likely flop when we haven't really had confirmation about the style of music, etc...

Those singles weren't strong singles. They dropped of the charts like a stone in the sea [no pun intended].

And they were VERY VERY far from the best Sugababe singles.

The fact that there last TWO albums have flopped badly says it all really...

Catfights & Spotlights outsold Sweet 7 10:1. Hardly floppy in direct comparison.

C&S actually was a bloody brilliant album that was poorly managed and as a result undersold.
