Posted April 26, 201015 yr Hart Ivanovich Dunne Vermaelen Evra Valencia Fabregas Fletcher Milner Rooney Drogba Thoughts? Personally I think it's a shambles. No Clarke Carlisle or Jozy Altidore? lulz. But in seriousness, there are a few odd inclusions/exclusions in there. Surely there have been better centre backs than Dunne (Dawson for example)? Milner's had a cracking season, but why's he on the left wing? Fabregas (Who's spent most of the season injured) as opposed to Lampard who's scored 20 from midfield this season? Very odd. Rooney also won the Player of the Year (Hard to argue against that tbh), while Milner won Young Player of the Year.
April 26, 201015 yr Eccentric list, Hart ahead of Gomes, Dunne ahead of Dawson, Valencia ahead of Malouda, Fletcher ahead of Lampard Weird ain't the word
April 26, 201015 yr It's voted for by other players though so I don't think you'll get any more authentic. I guess players don't like playing against a workhorse like Fletcher but don't mind playing against Lampard, while teams compiled by the general public would be based almost entirely on goals.
April 26, 201015 yr Don't fully agree with the list, but it's a fair reflection really. So pleased for Milner. My player of the year. He deserves a place in the England first XI.
April 26, 201015 yr A very good list IMHO. The only one I'd disagree with is the inclusion of Fabregas ahead of Frank Lampard. Otherwise I can't fault it.
April 26, 201015 yr As if anyone can moan about the inclusion of Dunne. He looks a different player at Villa, by far this season's best signing. Hart has won Birmingham a hell of a lot of points this year, pleased for his recognition. Malouda is the only surprise exclusion, he's been superb this year, especially since December time. I do think Fabreags fully deserves his place, the impact he's had when he has been playing is phenomenal. 15 goals and 15 assists is superb, and he's played 29 games anyway.
April 26, 201015 yr You do realise Fabregas has 19 goals and 19 assists this season? i'd say that's worthy of being there. Edited April 26, 201015 yr by Alias
April 26, 201015 yr Why Fabregas? He's had a good season, not a great one. Would have liked to see a West Ham player in there but the majorty have been crap, Parker should be in with a shout of the World Cup squad though ^_^
April 26, 201015 yr Fabregas has been brilliant. Top assists in the Premier League, only Lampard has scored more from midfield. He's carried the Arsenal team at times to being title contenders. They got 14 points from the 9 games he's missed (average 1.55 per game) and 68 in the 27 he has played in (average 2.15). If he hadn't got injured I still think it'd be a three horse race for the title.
April 26, 201015 yr My teams of the year: Best: Given Ivanovic Dunne Vermaelen Cole Fabregas Lampard Milner Malouda Cole Drogba Worst: (I could probably just fill this team with strikers tbh, special mentions to Benitez and Di Santo) Fabianski Hibbert Zayatte Carlisle Insua Behrami Carrick Milijas Elmander Scotland Vennegor of Hesselink Underrated (deserve far more credit for how well they've played this season): Robinson Ricketts Cuellar Faye Berra Ferguson Lee Chung Yong N'Zogbia Bendtner Fletcher Doyle
