Posted April 29, 201015 yr Katy Perry shot the official artwork for her new single today (April 28th), announcing via her Twitter that there “couldn’t be more color” in the shoot and then tweeting a pic of her hot pink polka dot nails. The single is rumored to premiere in May, but no other details have been revealed yet. Besides running around and doing photoshoots Katy is also still recording her new album, hitting the studio with urban-pop producer Darkchild this week to lay down some tracks. The new album is inspired by “Abba”, the “90’s” and “The Cardigans”, and will also feature production from Max Martin & Doctor Luke, The-Dream & Tricky, Greg Kurstin and possibly Ryan Tedder and Taio Cruz. April 29, 201015 yr dr. luke production :o  that should make this comeback single amazing enough.
April 29, 201015 yr The new album is inspired by “Abba”, the “90’s” and “The Cardigans”. It sounds like perfection :o I can't wait :cheer:
April 29, 201015 yr I am so excited for this album but the single already sounds like a 50/50 deal. On one hand Dr Luke = amazingness but Snoop Dogg = hmmage.
April 29, 201015 yr Sounds all good about from the rumour that it features Snoop Dogg. Still, I don't expect he could ruin it - "Bad Boys" is still amazing although I don't normally like Flo Rida.
April 29, 201015 yr am looking forward to hearing her new material but not sure about the snoop dogg inclusion
April 29, 201015 yr Joseph Kahn  Im still waiting to see his cut of Already Gone though :(
April 30, 201015 yr Really looking forward to this, I think she has the potential to be HUGE this time round if the material is good enough.
April 30, 201015 yr COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED. As sad as it may sound - I check her fansites every day for new updates, and for pictures. Absolutely adore her, and can't wait for more material.
April 30, 201015 yr I'm really looking forward to this. I too feel she could be bigger this era than last, mainly because of the 2 featured hits.
April 30, 201015 yr Author She was smart to keep herself on other artists' records, keeps her name fresh on people's minds.
April 30, 201015 yr She was smart to keep herself on other artists' records, keeps her name fresh on people's minds. Good point. Plus, I thought 'Starstrukk' and 'IWEMA' were both great pop tracks. Very much of the now sound and giving 3Oh!3 their biggest hit and Timbaland a long staying UK hit. I agree with GD. If ABBA, 90s and The Cardigans are the main influences then Katy may be fortunate enough to dodge the "tricky second album" label.
May 1, 201015 yr I'm looking forward to Katy Perry's new material! One of the artists I'm most eagerly anticipating in 2010! :D The songs that she appeared on last year - "Starstrukk" and "If We Ever Meet Again" - were both made top quality by her and were both successful because of her imo. I'm really looking forward for what she has to offer. Even if she does feature Snoop, it probably won't be too bad. Adding his name to the song will provide it with name value and he has featured on some good songs in the past :) , so let's not jump to conclusions about that.
