I loved her performance of this from Radio 1's Big Weekend, and thought it was her best of the day! Many people thought this should've been a single, and I agree that it would've made a good single, but perhaps not perform that well in the charts. Taio Cruz) :: 8.59 http://i30.tinypic.com/5zkwaw.png The most poppy song on the album and a big fan-favourite finishes 3rd, making it the highest placed single! Many fans agreed that this should've been a single and with the extra vocals from Taio Cruz, it was a hit that never was! Taio produced, wrote and even sung backing vocals for the track in his poppy-R&B style that he dominated 2009 with 'Break Your Heart' and has brought into 2010 with 'Dynamite'. This was my most anticipated track off the album and it certaintly didn't disappoint me (or even go off me for that matter)! I can reveal that there was 0.59 points between the top two and the winning song received five 11s to 2nd place's *checks* none! Okay, let's go! The drum-beat throughout the song makes it similar to 'Fight For This Love' and this was interestingly the second choice for Cheryl's debut single! Despite the album sales and the predesesscing singles, 'Parachute' managed to achieve a top 5 peak in the UK singles chart and even outsell the previous single, '3 Words'! This was an instant favourite of mine upon listening to the album and it seemed to be a fan-favourite too, with many rumours of it being the third single months before any official announcement! Cheryl performed this live for the first time on Cheryl Cole's Night In and it wasn't until 3 months later when it was next performed on Sport Relief with a sublime dance routine and even a dance-breakdown. Since becoming the 4th highest selling single of the UK in 2009, Cheryl went on to dominate Europe and Australia, reaching #1 in no less than 4 countries! 'Fight For This Love' spent 2 weeks at #1 in the UK and 4 weeks at #1 in Ireland in 2009 in addition to 3 weeks at #1 in Norway and Denmark at the beginning of 2010. It hit the top 10 in no less than 16 countries worldwide and peaked at #2 in the World Chart. This is my favourite of Cheryl's solo songs, so I am ever-so-pleased at its ongoing success. The performance on The X Factor in 2009 was watched by millions of viewers and she went on to re-create the performance on smaller versions of The X Factor across Europe. The parent album, '3 Words' has gone 3x Platinum in the UK alone and is still charting in the UK top 75 (I think)! I hope album #2 can be just as good and bring us even more monster smashes as Cheryl has truly done her best to deliver!
