Posted May 4, 201015 yr This will be the 2nd UK single according to AATW... I love this song, but gosh they're so clueless. Amazing was clearly the best choice for the 2nd single. Deja Vu and Love are far too similar to Hot to work as good followups, especially in the dancephobic UK market. The UK edition of the song is also 2.25mins cYG8IeLgZts
May 4, 201015 yr AATW make me happy and sad in equal measure. On one hand they're wise enough to sign all of these European hits that might not make it onto these shores otherwise - Hot, Stereo Love, Release Me etc...which I'm grateful for (and they were responsible for releasing my favourite song of all time - Set You Free). But on the other hand when it comes to choosing a second single/carving out longer term careers for these artists, a monkey could do a better job :drama: It's almost like they want a load of one hit wonders on their books so that they can carry on milking out the smaller hits as space fillers on their Clubland compilations.
May 4, 201015 yr I also don't understand their mentality that the British public can't possibly handle a dance song more than two and a half minutes in length? We didn't seem to have any problems with the two David Guetta #1's and the Calvin Harris #1 from last year that both exceeded three minutes. Removing the dance breakdown from Release Me was unforgivable and the maulings of Hot (and now Deja Vu), and Stereo Love from what I've heard on Radio 1, is an absolute travesty.

THIS :( They have totally wasted huge European stars like Alcazar and Kate Ryan by not giving their material proper releases, or not getting them over here for promotion. I did wonder for a while if the label was a tax write-off, and that they actually didn't want hits at all, but that was pre-Agnes. Anyway, this song is actually new to me, I ignored this because I didn't like the first Bob Taylor track. But it's OK, if very similar to Hot. Maybe Amazing will be the On-And-On-like release-date-change-hell third single... -_-

Maybe Amazing will be the On-And-On-like release-date-change-hell third single... -_- They were on fire singles wise in 2001-2004 with the likes of N-Trance, Kelly Llorenna, Frankee, DJ Casper, LMC, Special D and a ton of others and then again in 2008 albums wise with Cascada, Scooter, Darren Styles and Ultrabeat all having weirdly massive albums. So they definitely know how to have success, which makes me question some of their bizarre choices/motives sometimes. Hard2Beat or whatever it's called now (Dance Nation?) had a great year in 2008 and are now not good at all, so it's basically down to AATW to bring all of the European pop/eurodance hits over now, seeing as Ministry of Sound tend to deal with the electro crossover dance hits like Riverside and Get Shaky (and please god I Like That in the near future). How hard is it to periodically check the charts of other European countries for breakout dance hits and get in there quick and snap them up/release them here? They're really missing out, and worse still, the British public miss out :(
May 4, 201015 yr All the more reason that you finally set up Neon Cloud Records :kink: But seriously, you're right. It just seemed like they had a VERY dry spell over the last few years, until Release Me of course... I guess they make more money from comps than singles these days, which is all well and good for them, but $h!t for fans. The only Alcazar track they have EVER released is the Cahill remix of Burning on a Clubland comp. How can they treat them like that? I dread what they would do to Stromae...
May 4, 201015 yr Author sometimes they are released in the UK but to no success. Remady P&R - No Superstar was a UK flop yet its been big in countries like Denmark, Switzerland and now France.
May 4, 201015 yr Do you think Stromae would be a hit with the right promotion in the UK though? Doubt so. Oh, and imagine if they decide to re-record the song with English lyrics... :drama:  Stromae - 'Then We Dance' Cahill remix of course. Anyways, back on topic. Maybe this choice is not that bad, it was a hit in Europe despite the similarity to 'Hot'. The UK market is obviously different though, yes. We'll wait, we'll see. I think the right single choices could be 'Amazing' or '10 minutes', the latter - because it's really different to the sound of other songs/singles.
May 5, 201015 yr sometimes they are released in the UK but to no success. Remady P&R - No Superstar was a UK flop yet its been big in countries like Denmark, Switzerland and now France. That song had slim to zero promotion/support here. I never once heard it on the radio or saw it on the TV. I only ever heard it because I downloaded it from iTunes after listening to the 30 second clip :drama: I guess it's luck of the draw - Inna/Edward Maya are currently all over Radio 1 and the music channels so have a clear headstart over everything else. I suppose huge European success prior to the UK release helps, Radio 1 would look a bit out of touch if they decided for the UK to be the only European country not to support Stereo Love and Hot. Seeing as Alors On Danse is basically the biggest dance hit across Europe for an age they really need to get on board, but some record company is probably demanding an English translation as we speak.

If Alors On Danse was a-listed on Radio 1 and given full rotation on music channels, I see no reason why it couldn't go top 3 here. It's not the public that's scared of foreign music, it's the radio producers. :(
May 5, 201015 yr Oh no :( Amazing would have been better. This will just flop as it's too similar with Hot
May 5, 201015 yr I have to disagree with the people who think Amazing is a better second single choice. In the Netherlands when Déjà Vu came out as second single I also wanted Amazing to replace it. But Déjà Vu charted pretty high (#7) and was actually a big club hit. I think Déjà Vu is a fine second single. I mean if you're gonna whine about getting the wrong second single then at least ask for 10 Minutes, which is a much better choice than Amazing. And lastly, WHY do they need to edit the UK versions to 2 and a half minutes? This song was released in the Netherlands as 4 minutes and it was FINE! Oh but they DID choose the wrong third single for the Netherlands. Love charted at #12 here but they should've definitely gone with 10 Minutes or at least Amazing. Edited May 5, 201015 yr by Denial
May 5, 201015 yr Woo! Great 2nd choice. I don't mind which is 2nd out of this, Amazing and 10 Minutes. I can imagine this maybe outpeaking Hot, it's much catchy and more musically credible IMO. Amazing for single #3, since it's a slightly slower, and then 10 Minutes to end there era.. now THAT is a stomper, could reach top 3 cause it's different for Inna and edgy. I am kinda pissed off they butchered the song though.. I can understand wanting to shorten the instrumentals for radio making the song about 3:10, but 2:25 is just really bad..

First of all, the Netherlands, like many other countries, works differently from the UK. A bad 2nd single choice can ruin her career in the UK, and I dont think Deja Vu is strong enough to do at least as well as Hot. Plus, Amazing is considered to be her best single by most people, even better than 10 Minutes. Plus its the perfect Summer single.
May 5, 201015 yr Well obviously no song is as good as Hot otherwise there wouldn't have to be a debat about what would be the second single. And who's to say Amazing is considered her best single by most people. You must've definitely left out Hot when you said that. Besides, 10 Minutes is more commercial and thus better suited for the UK than the although summer-y Amazing (not that it is summer yet).
May 5, 201015 yr Author Considering how many people want Amazing as the 2nd single here and in other forums, I'd say its the best suited for the next release in the UK Hot is great as a first single to guarantee a smash, but I wouldn't say its her best song. Its not Summer yet, but her 2nd single will be released in Summer.
May 5, 201015 yr Author That song had slim to zero promotion/support here. I never once heard it on the radio or saw it on the TV. It was played on certain music channels like MTV Dance and such, and on Kiss and Galaxy radios.
