Yeah, Madonna sold more albums & singles combined, but Céline sold more albums..:D

albums are worth more sales wise,i dont mind madonna but i think she is hugely over rated by critics and press

They are wrong ;). It's even 185.000.000 by now.

Yep - wrong, it was at least 175 million in September '04..:)

(excluding all the albums she sold before Sony)

 

She released a couple more albums since that.. and has around 180-185 million at the moment.. ^_^

NOTHING SHABBY ABOUT 155 MILLION ALBUM sales either,its a huge amount in my book

155 is still fab but 180 sounds fiercer :)

Mariah Carey has the diamond award too, I think she got it in 2001...

 

 

As for best selling female artists, I thought it was something like:

 

1. Madonna - 255mil

2. Barbara Streisand

3. Mariah Carey - 225 mill

4. Celine Dion

 

 

 

I'm not 100% sure though, but I know Madonna is no1 :huh:... But my sales are of singles and albums combined, so Celine may well have sold more albums than Madonna not sure!

In the 180/185 million there are no singles included and not the vinyls she did in the early years. right CSC ? LOL

Mariah Carey can't ever have sold that much (if it's only albums).. she sold at least 150 million, but hasn't reached the 175 yet. Madonna may have sold that much, but only albums & singles combined.. Barbra I don't know the numbers of, but it's lower than Celine, Madonna & Mariah..

 

Mariah indeed got the Diamond in '01 and if memory sold me right, she had at least sold 100/125 million albums back then..

It's tough to beat Celine in that area ;)
