Posted May 11, 201015 yr New revamped website: http://www.oursound.asia/index.html We have an host city & dates. So it seems this is finally going ahead - during the Eurovision off-season. Something to keep us going until selections for ESC 2011 :w00t:
May 12, 201015 yr Ooh, loving the new site  Still DEVASTATED about no Japan though :snif: But should be interesting!
May 12, 201015 yr Author Where does it say who is participating? In the questions, it says all participants will be announced soon :) Wikipedia claims to know the 14 participating countries (including Australia & New Zealand, but no Japan). It says "The following 14 countries and areas are expected to participate in the first year Asia-Pacific Song Contest.", and then only names 13 :P However, don't trust that, as wikipedia also claims to know how many points each country will get [Australia will win with 130pts]
May 12, 201015 yr Weird  I do wonder if Australia will have an advantage being the only country that has English as a native language (although maybe India and Singapore do too, I'm not sure). There used to be a different worldwide contest, but I forget what it was called, or where I read about it

There used to be a different worldwide contest, but I forget what it was called, or where I read about it  They do, and so does Hong Kong & the Philippines. And you didn't mention New Zealand either :P I think Australia could have an advantage also if they send big artists - like Delta Goodrem. What I'd really like to see is a contest between the US states. ESCToday had a story on April 1st last year, saying there was going to be one, then I was upset to find it was an April Fool :(

ESCToday had a story on April 1st last year, saying there was going to be one, then I was upset to find it was an April Fool :( Oh yeah, so about half of them  That's true, but there are artists from China and Korea who are popular right across Asia. I expect Korea to turn up the first Dima Bilan actually. I think that was seriously discussed at one point, as a project by Lou Pearlman, but that has fallen through like his US version of Top Of The Pops (presumably to do with the fact that he's serving 25 years in jail for running a Ponzi scheme )

Maybe it will start once he's out :kink:
May 12, 201015 yr Um, in like 2030? He's the guy that formed NSync and the Backstreet Boys if you don't know his name...
May 13, 201015 yr tbh I don't think any other continent could do "eurovision" as well as Europe can.....I mean they'd probably all have mainstream pop and rnb artists :coffee: They'd just try to be cool about it...and that's not what eurovision is about imo. It's about every genre and style of song coming together.....and everyone can have something they like. :) It's also about strange people with weird songs, crossdressers and singers stripping off all their clothes in the most shocking way possible Edited May 13, 201015 yr by Sabrewulf
May 13, 201015 yr I thought that for a while, considering the lack of information given, but since there are dates and a host city now, I'm more convinced.
