May 13, 201015 yr I can't imagine this being too great storywise... but the cast list looks epic. Talk about mean about a bunch of mean motherf***ers put together.
May 27, 201015 yr I'm praying that this film will be great. Doen't this film have Brittany Murphy in it?

June 9, 201015 yr This movie can go either one of two ways, Awesomely great or Awesomely bad. I hope it's earlier than the latter. I can't wait. It's got to be better than the A-Team
June 24, 201015 yr Unfortunately it's potentially spoiled by also having Jason "fukkin'" Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Steve Austin in it too.... :P I didn't know Steve Austin could act! Epic line-up, but the film itself looks pretty poor/boring.
August 24, 201014 yr I watched this over the weekend. This movie was ace!!! Not to be taken too seriously but still good fun. To all the action fans - go watch this!
August 25, 201014 yr Well, as it turns out, this film was more enjoyable than I thought it would be.... A decent action film with an okay script, and some genuinely funny moments (best bit of the film HAS to be Bruce, Sly and Arnie meeting up in the church.... ) Arnie - Give the job to him (nodding to Sly) he likes playing in the jungle (to Sly) Dont you.. Bruce - (to Sly) What's his problem? Sly - He wants to be President..... (cue genuine audience laughter....) And, even more surprising DOLPH DOESN'T SUCK....... :o :o Yeah, I was shocked too... The part of burn-out, borderline sociopath Gunnar is probably the best role he's had in over 20 years.... Fortunately 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin isn't required to do much, so doesn't suck either..... and Jason Statham, is well, just Jason Statham to be honest..... Eric Roberts also gives a solid performance..... The action sequences are big enough to satisfy most action-hounds, the plot is slightly reminiscent of Freddie Forsythe's "Dogs of War" it has to be said.... So, this is alright, I certainly preferred this to The A-Team film....
August 25, 201014 yr This was hugely enjoyable and delivered exactly what I wanted for such a film. Very silly script, pretty poor dialog, some hilarious one-liners and amazing completelly OTT action. The scene with Arnie, Sly and Bruce definatly was the best part - and tbh Jason Statham was excellent in this and delivered some of the best moments by far - the scene when he blows up the dock and the endless enjoyable parts with him killing dozens with his knives were highlights. Looking forward to the sequel now. Hopefully they can get the likes of Seagal, Van Damn and Snipes on board - maybe even Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as he seriously needs to return to action and stop the kids films. There is already talk that Bruce will be the main villan in the next film - and Arnie's reign as California Gov will be up so it would be perfect for him to to have a bigger role.
August 26, 201014 yr ^ It's a 15 (: Ahh it was really quite good. I definitely fell in love with Jet Li and Mickey Rourke a little bit more. And yeah, Jason Statham and his generically tragic "I will act the same in every entire movie I am in" kept making me go "*cringe*" hen on-screen.
August 26, 201014 yr yes what everyone has said here is spot-on. The plot is quite frankly laughable and its basic at best, but you don't go and see a film like this for a good plot and story. Some of the action sequences were brilliant and its just a fun film basically. Not to be taken too seriously. Infact there's only one serious scene in the film, and Rourke just shows off what a good actor he is. The sequel would be brilliant if they did rope in the other big 80s action stars that declined to be in the film...
August 27, 201014 yr ^ It's a 15 (: Bloody great. That's two films I wanted to take my son to see and I can't. Thanks btw. Kath
August 30, 201014 yr I think Stallone has a good future behind the camera tbh... As a director he's got a very good instinct of knowing exactly which actors fit the roles and the characters, he also knows how to orchestrate some pretty thrilling action sequences, and, thankfully, seems to keep the CGI to a minimum.. This is who I'd like to see in an Expendables sequel... Bruce Willis in an expanded role Steven Segal Jean Claude Van Damme (he was a revelation to me after seeing him in JCVD and I have no doubt Stallone can utilise him just as effectively) Kurt Russell Bridgette Nielson (well, if Stallone can do for her what he did for Dolph....) Michelle Rodriguez Andy Lau or Tony Leung Danny Trejo Michael Ironside Alan Rickman in a sort of reprise of his silky villain role from "Die Hard".....
August 30, 201014 yr Michael Ironside Oh yes! I love this guy ... he's been in some sh/t films but he's almost always made said sh/t films bearable! Brilliant in Starship Troopers and Total Recall. Kath Goes off to find Michael Ironside picture for sig! Edited August 30, 201014 yr by Kathyp

I would have liked to have seen more of Bruce Willis - he should have been in it more. If they did a sequel then these are the people who should be in it... Steven Segal (Obviously!) Jean Claude Van Damme (Again obviously!) Tony Jaa Chuck Norris Vin Diesel (Only to last for about 5 mins and to be brutally killed by a girl) Ving Rhames Kelly Hu

I like those ideas - Danny Trejo especially (although he is the lead in the rival film 'Machete' out in the US this week) No Arnie in an expanded role? :P I am sure if his term is up he will at least appear in a slighly extended role - not a big action one but in a similar way to Rourke. Rumors suggest Sly has contacted his Rocky co-stars Mr T and Hulk Hogan, along with Hogans fellow WWF/E legend 'Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (who has finally begun doing action films again). Vin Diesel, Carl Weathers and Wesley Snipes (isnt he in prison?) are also likely to appear. I aslo think Chuck Norris shoudl appear in a small role. I know he is retired and in his 70's but it would be great to see. I like the idea of Rickman as another villian - Gary Oldman would be superb too - or even better get the mighty Gene Hackman out of the retirement. On second thoughts no, if he did do another film (and I seriously hope he did as he shoulnt leave the appauling Welcome To Moosnport as his final film) I'd prefer it to be more of a dramatic role then a big action film. This is prob the last type of film that would lure him out tbh. Oh and finally Chris Walken as anothe addition can't be a bad thing either. B)
September 9, 201014 yr I like those ideas - Danny Trejo especially (although he is the lead in the rival film 'Machete' out in the US this week) Is Machete a "rival" film though...? I would say the two compliment each other in a lot of ways....
