May 26, 201015 yr Kuunkuiskaajat's album was released ages ago, i tried to find it online somehwere but couldn't, i don't think i will bother with it even though by having listened to the previews of tracks it sounds pretty good! I've ordered it off Bea Records, but the person who runs that company seems to be in Oslo at the moment, so hopefully she'll get back to me about my order when she returns from there.
May 26, 201015 yr I firmly believe the names of the jurors should not be released until after the contest...
May 26, 201015 yr Azerbaijan will be like Russia and never DNQ. I would not be surprised at all if both countries have paid the juries significant amounts to ensure qualification and/or a decent backing in the final. This would be even worse than the old political voting problems if it turned out to be true. The only way it can ever be proven (and you'd think Russia qualifying for the final would have done it) is if Russia, Ukraine or Azerbaijan quite literally sent the worst thing imaginable to the contest, devoid even of any novelty value - maybe a dirgy dad rock MOR number sung by a 54 year old with no charisma with his back turned away from the audience, singing out of tune with the worst vocal performance heard to date in the contest. It would still probably qualify :drama:

I've discovered this wonderful place today! I'm thinking of purchasing something, i can't know what though, so many things i want lolz.
May 26, 201015 yr I've discovered this wonderful place today! I'm thinking of purchasing something, i can't know what though, so many things i want lolz. It is quite expensive, well for British people, I don't know how much CDs usually cost in Russia, but Bea Records sell theirs for about £10 more than what the average UK cost is. It is one of the only sources for fixed price Eurovision releases though, so I buy off there every year.
May 26, 201015 yr CD prices don't differ much from here tbh, that place is good for stuff you can't usually buy easily, plus it's always better to have one place to purchase from instead of trying out dozens of stores! Do you think this contest's book is worth buying? I'm interested to see what's inside! :o

The only book on the contest I've bought is the complete history which comes out fairly regularly in the UK.

The only book on the contest I've bought is the complete history which comes out fairly regularly in the UK. I'd love to have it! I've only come across the book that was released in 2007! :o Nothing like that will ever be available out here :( ESC fans are so disgustingly closeted :( In my university's group nobody knows ANYTHING about ESC (i'm known as the ESC loon btw lolz) so in FEBRUARY(!) i frequently get asked about who goes from Russia to Eurovision. Nevermind our selection is usually first week of March -_- And they always ask about Ukraine and Belarus only AS IF THERE'RE NO OTHER COUNTRIES OUT THERE. GAH. Purchasing from abroad is so complicated and requires waiting for delivery which i absolutely hate, plus you don't know if the item was stolen from your post or was lost... I wish our market wasn't based on the needs of the majority and started importing stuff that not all of us want, like foreign artists' albums, etc. Conservative hole lolz. :( [/rantover]

I too am the only person (offline) that knows anything about the contest so I get asked "Who's our entry?" and "Who are the favourites?", but nobody tends to be particularly inquisitive about what individual countries are entering, not even Ireland. Guess we're just not that close to our geographical neighbours here. Purchasing from outside the EU can be a drag for us, but most of the time packages arrive smoothly. I ordered a couple of metal CDs once from Russia and they took 2 months to get here for some reason

I ordered a couple of metal CDs once from Russia and they took 2 months to get here for some reason  It's not really a taboo, just either people see bad in it ("it's too poppy I'm disgusted", etc) or think there's conspiracy everywhere and that every result is bought etc (which is so f***ing stupid, it usually comes from complete ZEROS in Eurovision) or there're people like me (who like/love/are obsessed with ESC and only blame the quality of the song/performance if it's not successful). Not even Ireland?! :o Quite shocking tbf... Letters (old-fashioned i know LOL) WITHIN MOSCOW travel up to a month so i don't really wonder why you had to wait for that long  :( You chose the right country to order metal CDs from since people can only listen to such kind of music in here. No f***ing wonder we're so violent to each other.
May 27, 201015 yr It's a bit mixed in Ireland. We go an entire year without talking about it, but Eurovision week is always buzzing. Radio stations usually play some of the songs. It's also an event most spend with their family or with other people, especially in recessions because they can't afford to go out. :heehee:

No, and like Cal said above, apart from the loons, nobody takes a blind bit of notice of the contest until the week it's on and the Monday after. Then it's brushed under the carpet for another year :( A month within Moscow? That's shocking! Do you know why that is?

These people literally put some conspiracy theory every single time a song they liked (somebody said it Portugal this year   ) qualifies, or doesn't qualify. Well, maybe my memory played with me a little and it's actually 2 weeks but, still, very long! I guess it's laziness. Well, people who work in post offices are usually females in their 40's or even older so i am not surprised  It's not that letters travel slowly, it's all about workers who sort the correspondence within the offices tbf... Retired people who decided to keep working not only deprive youth from finding jobs but clog up absolutely everything they are actively involved in. (E.g. retired age-wise women who can't handle the computer => slowing down the process => queues (depending on a job) => irritation => anger => violence => pain. LOL, what a logic :kink:) You wouldn't say this is the ESC iTunes thread  I must cease this off-topicness lolz.

I can see why Portugal qualified, so for people to suggest there was something under handed going on there is a bit ridiculous. The retirement age in the UK is going up all the time too which is a strain on the youth (including me) who are trying to find jobs., yeah back on topic... I wonder who will sore up the iTunes chart tonight/tomorrow? Azerbaijan? Ireland? Netherlands? :o
