It's nothing shameful to not like your country's song and want it to DNQ :heehee:

Well, if 'UK ARE SO GONNA BE LAST' is cheering then yeah :kink:

well i hated our song in 2005, and didn't care much about last year...

I kinda like it this year so I'm supportive.

and some people here are thinking that the UK gonna be in the top 20 this year so yeah that's optimistic too :kink:

Mecadonia's song is kinda good. It's not as bad as I thought it was. :o

4. Slovakia: Horehronie - Kristina Pelakova

5. Finland: Työlki ellää - Kuunkuiskaajat

10. Belgium: Me and my guitar - Tom Dice

12. Albania: It's all about you - Juliana Pasha

17. Iceland: Je ne sais quoi - Hera Björk

These are the only songs I really like in the first semi :nocheer:

I think Russia will just miss out this time tbh. They're not going to get any votes from anyone who aren't their neighbours, and even then they're only going to get the public vote, and (hopefully) nothing from the juries. I know lines are open from the start as well, but they're still performing in the dreaded second spot.

Here's the songs I want to qualify in bold:

1. Moldova: Run away - Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira

2. Russia: Lost and forgotten - Peter Nalitch & Friends

3. Estonia Siren - Malcolm Lincoln & Manpower 4

4. Slovakia: Horehronie - Kristina Pelakova

5. Finland: Työlki ellää - Kuunkuiskaajat

6. Latvia: What for? - Aisha

7. Serbia: Ovo je Balkan - Milan Stanković

8. Bosnia & Herzegovina: Thunder and lightning - Vukašin Brajić

9. Poland: Legenda - Marcin Mroziński

10. Belgium: Me and my guitar - Tom Dice

11. Malta: My dream - Thea Garrett

12. Albania: It's all about you - Juliana Pasha

13. Greece: OPA - George Alkaios & Friends

14. Portugal: Há dias assim - Filipa Azevedo

15. FYR Macedonia: Jas ja imam silata - Gjoko Taneski

16. Belarus: Butterflies - 3+2

17. Iceland: Je ne sais quoi - Hera Björk

Obviously though Greece, Serbia and maybe Russia will all get through :nocheer:

Oh I forgot to mention this last night, but there was a show on tv about irelands competition in the second semi.....and they said that Netherlands were one of the favourites

who knows what will the juries around Europe prefer this year... I say anything can happen! the biggest fan/bookies fave can fail as the "most unlikely to do well" songs can be lucky tonight.

I do think this years eurovision could throw out a few upsets :o

I wonder if they're going to specifically point out that you can vote as soon as the performances start......if they half heartedly mention it once I wouldn't be surprised if alot of people missed it....esspecially more casual people who might not tune in until about 20 past or half past (8) for the songs...

It's not really something that's being paraded much...

Yeah, poor Malta :( they are gonna go to war soon

Is it true that Kosovo might be entering the contest in the near future?

I probably won't be posting any messages here between songs because my computer is in my room, the good tv is in the sitting room and my dad is relaxing in bed and he doesn't like when I move back and forward between rooms opening and closing doors just to comment on an x factor performance/Eurovision performance :P

But I'll probably rate all the performances as they go on and post them here later. I also write out the list of countries I want to qualify......incase I forget somehow

This spot is only harmful for the UK :kink: And Ireland (see last year :kink: )

Random fact but Israel were 2nd somewhere in the draw for the three past years, the first two - in semis, and last time in the final. :o :o

Personally, I can't see Finland making it. I found it to be a grower, so I don't see it getting votes from casual viewers who live a way from Finland. If it gets through, I don't see it being higher than 9th or 10th in the semi-final, but I can see it just missing out with 11th.

I think they're going to remind the public of the numbers after every 4 or 5 songs.

NRK1 is now on my TV, it's a Swedish program about Swedish national parks atm

These are the results from ESCToday's BigPoll:

Iceland - 195 points

Slovakia - 181 points

Greece - 143 points

Belgium - 130 points

Albania - 116 points

Moldova - 97 points

Serbia - 95 points

Latvia - 73 points

Finland - 49 points

Belarus - 24 points

----------------------

Portugal - 19 points

Poland - 14 points

Malta - 9 points

Bosnia & Herzegovina - 7 points

FYR Macedonia - 3 points

Estonia - 3 points

Russia - 2 points

I'd be happy with that. The songs I love get through. But other sites have recently said Slovakia may just miss out, so maybe 2nd is a bit high for them :(

True, Russia will either just scrape in, or just miss out. Iceland has no chance to be first though.

Bizarre predictions from the Big Poll, it's usually quite accurate but no way are all of those songs going to finish in the bottom 5. And I can't imagine Iceland and Slovakia being the top 2 of the semi at all...

This looks more like a combined personal favourites poll than a prediction poll, maybe a lot of people weren't voting the right way

I never predict in that poll, I'm rubbish at predicting. So I did I mixture of predicting and my preference :P

I've got my score-sheets & Union Jack flag at the ready. I'm off now, and will see you all at 10:05pm UK Time!
