Any reason why Germany wouldn't be able to stick with those preliminary dates?

The BBC website seems to think it's 364 days until the next final :P That can't be right if ESC is about a week earlier next year

It won't be the Bank Holiday weekend again as that's when the Champions' League final is, so if they do change the date, they can only really bring it forward a week!

Edit: Oh, and the 2012 final is set for 19th May, so I think we can assume that the Eurovision 2012 will be on 26th May. :heehee:

I think they should seriously consider Hanover before anywhere else. It must be one of the biggest cities, and I think Lena is from there, and I've always thought it nice if a country hosts in the place the winner is from

Isn't it a pain in the arse to get to though? Does it even have it's own airport?

So should this year's contest have been held in Belarus then? :kink:

Hannover's airport is rather large, iirc. :o

Munich should be the host city.

Well, I think it should be only hosted in the place the artist is from, if it's possible (and it wasn't really possible for Norway to host in Belarus). Hanover is a well known city in Germany, so if it has a suitable venue, transportation & accommodation, then they should certainly consider it. But if the winner is from some small town that no one has ever heard of, then it obviously can't be hosted there.

I'd like it not to be in Berlin, as it kinda gets boring, being in the capital every year. Was it 2004, the last time the host city wasn't the capital of the country?

How can it get boring having the contest held in a capital? It's not like all capitals are the same! :P

Maybe boring was the wrong word to use then. Saying "It's too predictable" would fit better

Germany will have been longing for this, I bet it's in Berlin personally. At least the UK won last in 1997, Germany have waited almost 30 years and I reckon the contest will make a big mark next year, I'm certain that RTL will do a great job with it.
What's RTL? I thought the main broadcaster in Germany was ARD? :o

Because of the federal structure of Germany, there are different broadcasters for different states, so ARD is basically all of them in one - if that makes sense. :heehee: NDR only broadcast in a few states, iirc.

Oh is it :o didn't realise! I guess RTL's their ITV equivlaent and ARD is their BBC. Well whatever it is, I'm certain that Germany will put on a good show

Here are some place's I think could be in contention to host Eurovision:

Dusseldorf

Munich

Frankfurt

Berlin

Hannover

Hamburg

Gladbach

Bremen

Munster/Osnabruck

Paderborn

I'd say your first six + Stuttgart could all be in contention. I don't think I've heard of the last four in your list

So does anyone know when the city will be chosen?
Is there an airport in Glahbach

Oh my bad, I thought there was one.

Yeah, I forgot about Stuttgart. Like I said, a few of them are rather ambitious.

Bremen is amazing. I went there on my way home from Oslo and it's such a lovely city. It has an airport, a tram system, but nowhere big enough to host. :P
