I wonder when they'll start rehearsals.

Usually some of the stars of the Glasgow pantomimes get together in costume to do a press call in one of the main streets or squares to launch the panto season.

That'd be good. He'll be tied up with the Big Band stuff until 5th November, then he'll go home and probably be back in Glasgow a couple of weeks later

Is anyone else going to the Friday the 3rd show? I've got a ticket and kinda booked(it's a long story) a hotel for 2 nights, but I can see me being awfully lonely down there.

I was hoping to be able to take some photographs for D at the show, but after initially agreeing, he realised that the Kings Theatre wouldn't allow it as they used their own in house photographer :( So close but yet so far  At least I finally plucked up the courage to offer :)

It's a shame you can't make it Meg, is there no possibility for you?

Don't think I'll be ble to get there on the 17th either Sue :(

I think I'll travel down anyway, Glasgow is supposed to be quite a beautiful city, so I might try some photography whilst there.

I'm liking this pic from the ambassador ticket site :)

So am I, Paul. I can't get there and back in a day and Mum wont let anyone else get her up or put her to bed, so I just can't go. I'd love to but that's life.

Do you live near Heathrow Meg? There's a shuttle between there and Glasgow which would get you there and back in a day, so you could attend a matinee performance. I think the return trip would work out around £90ish with BA, but you'd also need to add the cost of a taxi from the airport to the centre of town(unless there's a cheaper alternative).

Lot's of matinees at different times and flights too, you know it makes sense Meg :naughty:

I don't think I'd risk it Paul. I know how many times my son gets delayed when he flies - many more times when he just catches the train home. I need to allow an hour for Heathrow - another hour before the flight. I can't leave home until about 10:30 at the earliest as Mum's a bit slow in the mornings and then I'd have to get back.

Well. looks like I'm at least attempting to go. My family are pleased to have something to buy me for Christmas that I want. I'll have to get Mum up at 7am which isn't good. A neighbour will watch her while Dave drops me off at Heathrow. I get 1 1/2 hrs to get to the theatre. Getting back isn't a problem but Saturdays were out as the last plane left too early for me to reach the airport. Now I just have to hope the whole thing doesn't go pear shaped. The weekday planes were better than the weekend.

I know I shouldn't be doing this. I shall probably regret it. At least I have people to blame. Nothing to do with me at ALL.

I would really hate to miss this.

   Fantastic Meg! It would have been a real shame to miss him in something new.

Please tell your family I accept full responsibility :D Being a happily married man, I'm used to doing so

Really pleased you'll be able to go, have you looked at specific dates yet?

I booked the 8th as Wednesdays' had a flight I could get in each direction that wasn't already booked - it was also the cheapest I'd found £78 return. It also had a lone seat in a good position - there aren't many good seats left.
I'll tell Dave - he'll probably have his usual response. A tut and a laugh. Although he has a cold at the3 moment so is seriously ill. I may wait a few days before discussing it more. He knows he's booked as my chauffeur though. It'll make a nice change for him to take me to an airport rather than the kids.
So glad you're managing to get there Meg. Try not to think about all the things that could go wrong or you won't enjoy the day. When we went to see Carmen there was so much that could have gone wrong, but it all went off like clockwork in the end. Sue
I know - it's just that awful feeling you get sometimes.. I had it in London once - left the show half way through and go home to find Mum had had a fall. I know I'll be on edge. One thing that makes it so much better though is IT'S ALL PAUL'S FAULT

Accepted :)

Of course, when everything goes wonderfully well, I'll claim all the glory for it :D

I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine, it's just great you can make it :)
