If they offered me £500, I'd go as well. Mind you, there would be a chance that I'd go if I could get there anyway.

From today's Daily Record

Scots star Darius Campbell ready to don kilt for Prince Charming role

SINGING star Darius Campbell is set to charm panto audiences as a handsome prince - in a kilt.

The 30-year-old will appear in Snow White at the King's Theatre in Glasgow this year.

But before he agreed to take on the role of the prince, Darius had three demands.

He said: "I wanted seven real dwarves, I wanted to sing Michael Buble songs and finally I told them that this Prince Charming doesn't wear tights - he wears a kilt.

"They said, 'yes, yes, yes', which was great because it means I am coming home for Christmas."

Darius said starring in the panto will be a fairytale ending to a great year.

He added: "It has been a big year for me, winning Opera Star, then performing in Carmen in front of 20,000 people at the O2. And I have produced my own show for the first time, The History Of The Big Bands.

"It has also been a big year for my family.

"My dad is in full health and my brothers have both done really well at school and university. So even before the panto came up, we had all decided that this Christmas we needed to get together."

- will he sing I just havent met you yet.. just thinking what fits in with a cinderella theme

I'd say that's a given, if they're trying to give the Prince more stage time than the story does.

They always use current pop songs in the Kings' pantos, but frankly I'd be hard pressed to think of male ones which aren't R&B or rap.

Darius is in Snow White at the Kings. Cinderella is the ballet at the Theatre Royal.

I'll try to get a hold of the paper. I might not be able to put it on today though because my scanner wouldn't work last time.

I'll need to play around with it.

Thanks Pam and BT. Really glad I'm going to this now.

Can anyone who knows please tell me is the theatre near the train station and is the Premier Inn near to both of them? It implies on their website that it is. Sue

If it's the Charing Cross Premier Inn it isn't far away at all. It's in Elmbank Gdns and the King's is on the corner of Bath Street and Elmbank Street.

As for the station to the King's I'd personally take a taxi to avoid any hassle. It's about a 20 minute walk, uphill for the first 5 minutes or so.

There are plenty of buses which go to the Kings. I'll try to find out which numbers for you if you like.

Thanks BT. I think a taxi sounds good. I've just spent so long on The Train Line website trying to book the tickets I wanted to get to Glasgow, rather than the ones the site wanted to give me,( I started the process last night and gave up in temper) that the prices have now gone up and I've had to pay £44 more! I'm really cross. Sue
