It was well worth it. The panto was great and very funny. The travelling was very stressful. Luckily, I could see what was happening so managed to switch fights often enough to end up on the only one leaving to anywhere near where I wanted to go.

You're a very determined lady, megham. I'm so glad you got to see it at least once. i was beginning to feel guilty that i had and so many others have been disappointed.

I won't be on much. I've got my sister and brother-in-law staying with me and my niece from Canada is home with her family so we need to catch up with them a few times before they go home at the new year.

I couldn't get hot water this morning. However that might be because I messed about with the controls and upset the automatic system. I'll need to wait until the system resets itself and see if it gets back. If not, I'll need to call out a plumber tomorrow.

Did you have any trouble with the dialect? I think Snow White shows the commitment of every person involved. from the tiniest members of the children's chorus to Muddles himself, the cast are excellent.

I'd forgotten about that GFT quip. GFT = Glasgow Film Theatre where they've always shown world cinema and avant garde productions.

I was thinking about Snow White last night and laughed out loudwhen the "killing" scene came to mind - what Herman does when Snow White sees him with the dagger

whatsonstage review for panto

Appearing in a kilt and performing Michael Bublé, the audience swoons as Darius Campbell croons. His superb vocal performance is beautifully rich and his acting wonderfully Charming. Although his vocal style seems at somewhat at odds with Julie Matheson’s cartoonish Snow White, it doesn’t really matter.

I don't get what he means about their voices. I thought they blended beautifully in the real duet sections of songs.

I also thought they were well cast and singing in character. Snow White is a bubbly, optimistic 18 year old who's led a sheltered life. The Prince is a more mature, go-getting man who's travelled extensively, far from his homeland.

The one I saw, Snow White's voice was not good in the duet. Very shrill but she was fine in other places. Maybe it depends on how it comes over in each show? Apart from her voice being a little grating at times, she made an excellent Snow White. Very much the way most people would expect her to be.

MISS Scotland was among the celebrities who helped make it a special Christmas for brave youngsters at the annual festive party organised by charity fundraiser Les Hoey from Wishaw.

Stunning Nicola Mimnagh put a smile on kids’ faces as she attended the party held at Fir Park, Motherwell.

Pantomime star Darius Campbell took some time away from the production of Aladdin at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow to make sure the children had a fantastic time.

Many of the youngsters have life-limiting conditions and the party gives them an event to look forward to.

Wishaw schoolboy Colin McLaren, who suffers from the rare genetic illness adrenaleukodystrophy, had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to meet famous faces.

His dad Grant said: “Once again we have to say a big thank you to Les for all his efforts. Colin and all the other youngsters had a wonderful time and every one of the celebrities and sports people who came along were great fun.”

The party, in Fir Park’s Centenary Suite, was attended by celebrities including footballers and Scottish TV stars.

Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled day of party games and treats. Each child received a special present, with gifts including X-boxes and PlayStation 3s, TVs, iPods, BlackBerry mobile phones and concert tickets for Westlife and the X Factor tour.

King's and Theatre Royal Glasgow - Had a brilliant day with Darius doing a fashion photo shoot for the Evening Times. All being well it will be in the paper on the 5th January. Don't forget to pick up a copy! Failing that, come and see the boy in the flesh (and in fine voice) at the King's until 9th January x

That's great Claire :) What is the parking situation like in Glasgow? Can you park close to the Kings? I'm so tempted to just drive up one day and drive back the same day, because I don't trust my luck with the weather or trains. Having said that, I'll probably break down and miss it anyway  Any info appreciated tho :)

I thinking am right in thinking that there isn't any good parking places around about the kings am sure I maybe wrong, I thinking there is a car park near by but not 100% sure where it is and plus it would cost an arm and leg to park in these car park for any length of time.

I think me and my mum are possible going to be getting the train in from Lenzie in to Glasgow Queen st which only takes about 8 minutes
